Metal snapped Update: replaced immed.
Metal bar snapped less than 2 months in. Garbage. Off to lowes to see if i can get replacement steel. The rest of it is intact. Update: sent out a replacement bar immed. Less than 2 days. Will update in 2.5 months to see if it happens again.

Works as designed
To preface this, I have a 4x6 wood post with a chain-link gate on it. I removed the back side of the post clamp & just bolted the post side right to the wooden post with galvanized lag bolts. The gate side bolts up just fine. I did have a little slippage of the clamp on the gate even with it tightened very firmly. I just drilled a small hole & put a little #8 bolt in there to keep the clamp from moving. So - with minor surgery I made this work for my purposes and it's been working fine for months now on a gate that's used maybe twice a week.

Its a tight spring
Works good. Touch tension tho. Gate will whip back fast

Could not get this to work
Installed everything properly but could not get this to work.

Didn't work
Need to rethink the clamp for the fence and gate post. Also a thinner piece of metal that can torque more easily in order to open the gate both directions would have been nice. No point in getting this if they don't overhaul the design
