Our water here is horrible, high in solids and other crap. Use these as a pre filter and after several months they look gross. Easy to change out with a new one.

For the cost of admission these are really good filters. I have it set up behind my 5 micron filters and they do a great job. There are others costing much more and I have tried many. These perform just as well if not better and cost way less. I can recommend them.

I was pleasantly surprised to see these filters are individually wrapped. This is important, as it is easy to get filters dirty (and full of bacteria) when they are opened. With individual wrappers, I was able to save money buying a 2-pack but not sacrifice cleanliness. These are less expensive than the filters I replaced (Pentek) and do just as good of a job filtering. I use this filter as a pre-filter for my Goldline RO (Reverse Osmosis) system. I would not recommend this filter for a whole-house use, as it would not flow enough water and would quickly get plugged with a moderate amoun of sidement or iron in the water.

There isn’t much to say, does what is supposed to. If you use an RO system it is essential to replace these. It will extend the life of your RO filter.

At first they seemed a little long. The canister hit the filter top about a 1/4 turn before it closed. Maybe they're designed that way because with a little extra effort the canister did continue to rotate and closed at it's normal position. The water coming through the filter is sparkling clear and taste free. What more can we ask. Overall, we're very happy with them.
