Great 1st reel for my man who got into fishing, although the top part of his rod has already broke and i got him this for Christmas. He was really bummed cuz he liked how the rod handles and the compact size of it. The bait that comes with it is really cool though.

My son absolutely loves this! He is a huge fisherman in training - he loves that it collapses and he can keep it in the car for random stop offs during car rides!

So I got this fishing rod for my kids because they have recently become interested in fishing. So far I've bought about seven or eight fishing poles between all of my kids and this one seems to work okay. I will say that on the first couple of tries the line keeps getting twisted and my son said it's because it has a braided line which I'm not really familiar with that but it is a thicker line so maybe that's why. We just got it so we're still figuring out how it going to work down the line but so far so good. The price was a little high for me but I guess compared to fishing poles that you can get at academy or a sports and outdoor place It's comparable. The product arrived quickly and was easy to assemble.

If there was a negative star review, I would grant it. I purchased this combo as it was compact and fit in my work truck, but anything larger then a sunfish usually causes this rod to snap. The first time I purchased this rod, I hooked probably a 5lb bass, and it snapped, and I loss the fish. I replaced it through Amazon, and hooked maybe a 1lb bass, it snapped again, though I did manage to land the fish. The sliding part just above the reel on the rod is the spot that usually brakes. -4/10, would not recommend.

Overall the rod and reel work great. Good for beginners. The topwater lure are terrible except for the frog which works the best out of all the lures

Bought it for my son for Christmas last year and it broke very shortly after he got it but he kept using it till he couldn't use it anymore.

It was difficult to find a baitcast combo that is small enough for our RV. I found this one, the rod is fine and I like its telescoping feature. I’m no Roland Martin, but I’ve fished a baitcast reel for at least 40 years. This is the worst one I’ve ever had. It cannot hold backlash adjustments for 3 casts without knots. Save yourself a bunch of time & buy a reliable reel from a Fishing Company. I’m throwing this reel in the trash. I pity the guy who fishes it out and tries to use it.
