Lights up nicely, pattern only visible when going VERY fast
This spoke light is a very nice idea, but it just doesn't work quite the way it is described or pictured under most circumstances. The Good:The light is easy to install (I bought 4 of them, one for each bike in the family, all different bikes), and functions properly. The light pattern does change every 4 seconds or so as indicated in the instructions. The batteries (3x AAA) are easy to install. The Bad:This is a single line of LED lights being spun around, changing the lights as it spins in order to create a pattern. Unless you're going REALLY fast (I can't quantify how fast, as I have yet to achieve the required speed), you won't see a full-wheel pattern as shown in the pictures for this product. The wheels will need to spin fast enough to make a full revolution while the lights are visible all the way around in order for this to work as shown. That's pretty darned fast.UPDATE: I just noticed that the description says that at 20 mph the full pattern will be visible. However, at 20 mph, my wife could only see a small portion of the pattern. The entire wheel was NOT lit up at 20 mph.My conclusion:Fun idea, just over promised. I'll keep them, as they're a novelty, and a fairly cheap one, but I would not buy them again. This product might work better if it was a 4- or more spoke solution, with all spokes coordinated. I don't even think you could take 4 of these and install them on the same wheel because you wouldn't get the coordination needed to create the same pattern at the same time.

Fun and added Safety!
These inexpensive tire lights were super simple to install on a 22" spoked bicycle wheel. My son rode his bike up and down the street all evening with that light spinning and making patterns. One note of advice is you have to get that bike moving for the patterns to appear. It's really fun for everybody watching, but as the rider of the bike, you don't see much of anything of course. The added benefit is these tire lights will draw some attention from drivers on the road. When I sent my 10 year old son barreling down the road through intersections at full speed, everybody saw his colorful tires and stopped far enough to keep him safe.

This light's performance is better than my expectation. The LED lights are colorful and amazing.

Poor design -- 100% failure
This was sold as a 2-pack, and both units failed before I could even use them on a bike ride! After I installed the light assembly on the wheel spokes, I removed the screw-off battery cover and installed (3) AAA batteries. There's a spring in the battery compartment to provide slight tension on the batteries, I screwed the battery cover back on, the lights flashed, but before I could take it on a bike ride, the entire assembly cover (white part shown in photo) separated from the housing. The assembly cover looks like it's supposed to snap on, but it kept popping off whenever batteries are installed -- very bad design. Sending them back for a refund.

Look cool
Batteries are easily changed. Looking forward to my first ride! Happy lighting!

They work and they are cheap.
Bought for my sons bike and they arrived early and packaged nice. He has a 20" bmx bike with 32 spoke wheels. When I went to install them they did not fit his spoke pattern and one end had to be secured with zip ties. I have been in construction for over 25 years, so I know tools, and can follow directions. These just did not fit properly. They do still work fine and their brightness was a pleasant surprise. It is worth saying, you must go pretty fast to get the image pattern to look right. For the price I am overall happy with them and would recommend them especially for a different wheel or spoke pattern.

Worth the price
First things first, to help this review be understood.I have been looking for something like this for my bike. When I saw an ad looking for people to use them to help sell more, I jumped at it.I am a pretty serious gravel biker. I just rode 17 miles, ON GRAVEL, on a work night. I ride enough that I have to pay more so things will perform how I want, and endure the elements I bike in. I also go distances that are quite difficult to bike. I have lost expensive bike headlights, as these are pretty serious demands for equipment.Today was pretty clear, as normal. These seemed to have held up well, too. Half of the time they were off, as there was light. I turned them on closer to dusk. They ended up seeming to hold up well. For brightness, they aren't super bright, near as I could tell, but I think people could see me, which is all I really need from something like this. Bike headlights are where you really worry about brightness on gravel, as they help you see in front of you. Now, for easy to install...I guess that's the one area that I cluld ask more of. It was easier for me to attach it upside down, and angle it within the spokes, to help the molded clip attach to the spoke. This was a challenge, as the spokes I have taper to help with the stresses of riding. So, I had to figure out how to have it clip to a larger part of the taper. All in all, are they worth the money? Absolutely. Are they places they could improve? Yes, but I am unsure if they can do so in a package that is anywhere near as cost effective. This is probably the best you could find without spending closer to $50.
