This worked perfectly
After much research on installation technique I removed only 2 of the 3 10mm bolts on the actuator in order to fit this new clip in position. I hand-tightened the bolts and when I turned on ignition the clip fell into place perfectly. I then torqued 10mm bolts snug and further wedged clip into grooves. It cycles as it should now. The whole job took me 15mins. This product is high-quality and if you figure out the tricky installation technique youāll be very happy with the result. Hope this helps others considering purchase of this bmw exhaust actuator clip.

F30 bmw
Was tough to get in initially especially when following YouTube videos; however, what I did was take 2 of the three 10mm screws then added in the clip and screwed on another 10mm and started the car and when the car starts it will snap into place and then I went back and added the third screw back on. Notice: if there isnāt any pressure when applying the clip, then it needs to be widened so that itās under constant tension when inside of the grooves of the actuator and module, preventing it from falling out. I also used longer 10mm screws from Home Depot, as the factory screws, I found to be personally too short when trying to work against the pressure of the clip.

Works but could use instructions on how to install it's not totally straight forward.
Great for the price. Saved $500 vs dealer. This is a bit tricky to install. You need to take a cold car, maneuver it in place and then let the car warm up so the actuator moves and drops it into a slot. Search you tube videos for how to install.

Good fit on 2014 228i
Took me a couple 30 min sessions to get it in place-but once you study a few pictures and watch a video or two on it, it really does only take just a few mins (on my 3rd sessionš¤£!) As others note here the easiest way I found was to get the exhaust side in place and squeeze it in place on the actuator portion so that it is crossing the groove. Next, get the actuator to turn either using sport mode (I actually could not get this method to work for me-perhaps vehicle needs to be running though), or use bimmer link to manually open/close the valve-when you do this the pin will fall in the groove on the actuator side and keep in place. No more rattle!!

Saved me money DIY
Diagnosed the problem, discovered this butterfly clip has fallen off my exhaust. Purchased this clip through Amazon, and while it was a tad difficult replacing it, it's been a year now and I've had no problems. Easily saved a couple hundred dollars doing it myself, rather than a mechanic.

Simple fix for exhaust rattle
Noticed my old clip had gotten bumped out of its place. This was the source of the terrible exhaust rattle. Easy install with YouTube help
