I grind in a Breville BCG800XL Smart Grinder. Recently I've branched out and began sampling
I'm a verified buyer of dozens and dozens of Fresh Roasted Coffee LLC whole bean 2 & 5lb coffees from Amazon. I grind in a Breville BCG800XL Smart Grinder. Recently I've branched out and began sampling: 1) Stone Street, 2) Kicking Horse, 3) Coffee Bean Direct, and now Don Tomas brands. I drink dark roast drip predominantly and while all of these brands are excellent and (for the most part) reasonably priced, I recommend trying 2lbs of the Don Tomas Dark Nicaraguan, whole bean or ground.Compared to the others the look and taste is a touch bolder and richer. Tomas possesses an impressive dark bean appearance (almost chocolate or black in tone) and has a sparkly sheen of oil on the bean surface. Tomas creates the perfect balance between acidity and body, normally present in a medium roast. Taste, flavor, and aroma, Don Tomas delivers the biggest bang for the palette and the buck.

Very good medium roast coffee
I got through 5lbs of coffee every 2 months, so I have experienced much good coffee. This is a medium bodied coffee, light finish, with very low acidity. Use a bur grinder on a fine setting to get the best from these beans. 2 rounded Tbsp of grounds per 6oz water is a good starting point. I would not suggest trying to make espresso from these beans, but rather enjoy them the way they are intended. Compared to Don Pablo's Gourmet Blend, this bean is perhaps a bit lighter and less oily. However, don't let that lead you to think it is a lesser coffee, it is not. Compared to Stone Street's darker Sumatra Gayo, it is more rounded milder flavor, less bitter, a slight fruity finish. Overall, an excellent choice.

Old Beans and Not Very Strong
Well, the beans vere SLIGHTLY oily but I could see and smell they werent fresh. On tasting it, it has an OK taste but to me seemed on the weak side. Nothing special at all about it. Maxwell House extra bold is much better coffee, and it isn't even in the same ball park as Seattle's Best. I think we'll stick with the "Best"WARNING: If you order this and find out you dont care for it either, YOU HAVE NO RETURN PRIVILEDGE! Amazon doesnt accept returns on this. So we'll drink the rest of the bag and move on. Lesson learned.

Crave Fresh Coffee Brewed from Ground Beans!
The smell of fresh brewed coffee made from carefully ground beans is Heaven!! Since I started making my own this way over 4 years ago I bet I've tried whole beans from over 15 different regions. My favorite? Have several. But ••••• one thing really bugs me making my morning wake me up. I HAVE YET to receive a bag of beans with 2# of beans in it. Well maybe once or twice, but for the most part you're always "shorted" a couple of ounces. Bought this brand, got 1# & 14oz. (With the bag weighed too) so I'm wondering while my digital scale consistently surprises me. Scale off? Nope. Try weighing a "puffed up" bag of L**s Potato Chips and see what you're (not) getting. So in the end, the Consumer just wants what he/she is paying for ••••• and this INCLUDES COFFEE!!

Fresh and Delicious Nicaraguan Coffee!
Excellent coffee here from the fabulous country of Nicaragua! I have enjoyed Nicaraguan cigars for years, and when my local Costco no longer had their medium roast Mayorga coffee available I ordered this as the medium roast in the blend I make at home. I was not disappointed and will be continuing to buy this and work it into my own blend from now on!I will say I saw someone ask the question if the beans were smaller than average, and in the bag that I got they were on the smaller side. Not that I care, it's packaged by weight and not by volume so I'm not sure what difference it makes but this is excellent coffee and I would recommend it to you to try!

The best coffee money can buy for a price tag that is genuine on sharring the good taste.
If you're looking for a perfect coffee, without a high-end price tag, this is the coffee you want. The flavor has a little bit of everything, stable bold not overly intense bitterness, only a hint of what they call "citrus" flavor, basically very lightly sour to compliment the addition of milk to the coffee. Smooth wake me up, people who have good taste, and don't wish to have that nasty after burp should try this coffee. I've tried all kinds of coffee in different price ranges, from cheapest to the priciest. So, giving this a 5 star definitely is a right decision, would be great to make mild Spanish Latte if it were a little more roasted for enhanced boldness, but it is great right where it's at, if you drink pure black every time or time to time. I will definitely order a few more batches to keep. Thank you.

Light nutty flavor that I really enjoyed
I just started drinking coffee and these were part of the first order I made from amazon. I bought a 5 pound bag of another brand and a 2 pound bag of these. Thank goodness I opened the smaller bag first. These beans were dry and light colored with a nice smell. They made really light and nutty flavored coffee that I enjoyed thoroughly. I just ran out and opened the other 5 pound bag and they were dark and oily beans that made bitter tasting coffee. I will end up just throwing or giving them away. I paid almost $40 for beans that will end up in the trash or in one of my friends homes. I guess I am learning still so my only real issue was buying such a large bag. I knew that since I was trying out coffee I should buy smaller bags but since it had great reviews I ordered the 5 pound bag thinking I would like it. Oh well live and learn. So I am presently ordering the last two bags of these in stock and also looking at the 5 pound bag of light roast from Don Tomas as well. Not sure the difference between the standard 5 pound bag of light roast and these. I just hope its not so drastic as the dark and oily mild roast beans from the other company. Anyone want to recommend some tasty beans for me to look into? Anything that is not dark and oily or taste bitter that you can recommend would be appreciated. The dark oily beans are on the left and these beans are on the right in the pictures I posted. I bought the dark oily beans here as well they are 5LB Cafe Don Pablo Subtle Earth Organic Gourmet Coffee. They had great reviews so I guess I just like a lighter roast. Now I know
