Q: Are these free of formaldehyde and wood glue? Are these solid wood?

Yes, these are free from formaldehyde. They are not free from wood glue since the sides and bottom need to be connected somehow. We use white latex glue for wood. It's the same type that’d you’d get from Home Depot or Lowes for gluing wood together! The sides are made from solid pine, the bottom is made from a poplar plywood-like material (both sustainable woods). These are very strong/durable as seen in the reviews.

Also, the bottom is considerable thicker and more durable than other similar products. The bottom wood piece is 4mm thick while you'll find that most of the other options are 2mm.
