Great classic 80s movies all in one box. These look like re releases from previous Blu rays but I didn't have them.

Gotta love the John Hughes' movies. It's a unique perspective to watch these as an adult when you've first watched them as teenage favorites when they first came out. Now, the actors are older and my age! haha They don't make movies like this anymore. These were definitely made before the cultural marxists infiltrated Hollywood with "the message." John Hughes was allowed to tell his stories his way, without the DEI goons threatening him with a riot if he didn't have the now-mandated DEI garbage that ruins any good story telling now. Treasure these before the DEI cultual marxist goons try to "ban" them for being "outdated" and "offensive." Unfortunately, some of the actors are going around now saying how these movies weren't "inclusive" enough, but none of them would say if they would've given up their role so token diversity hire could take their place. These movies are gold because it's an artists pure telling of stories without the marxists censors breathing down his neck. John Hughes wouldn't be allowed to make his movies his way today.

It's a matter of tastes: there are three movies in this inexpensive collection: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and then Weird Science. For me, Weird Science is the let-down. Even if you accept the sci-fi/fantasy premise, the cheap, sophomoric humor simply take it over the top and turn the movie into a groaner. The other two movies are now classics and derivative of the 1980s. Of course, society and culture has evolved and changed over time. Lines and gags that were acceptable them would not play so well in today's environment. If you can avoid putting modern standards on 40 year-old movies, then you can appreciate the movies not only about typical teenage angst, which hasn't much changed, but also as a reflection of society's values in an historical sense. Yes, only four stars instead of five, simply because Weird Science didn't do it for me.

rewrite:Picked this one up for $10 for blu-ray and digital. Great buy for movies from a simpler time. Snagged this one for $10, blu-ray and digital included. A fantastic deal for those classic, simpler-time movies.

Il cofanetto che mi è stato recapitato è composto da una confezione in cartone che contiene 4 amaray: tre sono dedicati ai i film e uno contiene il dvd extra di Weird science/Sixteen Candles. L'edizione di The breakfast club è quella a 2 dvd (film + extras) che credo non sia mai uscita sul mercato italiano, dunque si tratta di 5 dvd in tutto. Attualmente gran parte dei film di John Hughes sono fuori catalogo nel nostro paese, dunque il mio consiglio è di rivolgersi a questo cofanetto Uk, dato che offre tre film importanti nella carriera di questo grande regista/produttore; inoltre è importante far notare che per ogni film è presente anche la traccia audio italiana oltre all'inglese, sebbene io consigli comunque l'ascolto in lingua originale: l'adattamento si rivela piuttosto approssimativo, soprattutto nel caso di Breakfast Club.

Eine wunderbare Box mit drei der besten Filme von John Hughes, ein Muss für jeden Fan von Molly Ringwald und Co. Man fühlt sich direkt um 25 Jahre zurückversetzt in die späten 80er. Die Box beinhaltet neben den 3 Filmen noch 2 DVDs mit Zusatzmaterial, vieles davon ist jedoch verzichtbar, John Hughes selbst taucht nicht auf, was bei so einer Box eigentlich wünschenswert wäre, immerhin war er mit seinen Filmen stilprägend für eine ganze Generation. Die 3 Filme verfügen über eine deutsche Tonspur, was aus der Artikelbeschreibung nicht deutlich hervorgeht. 5 Sterne für die Filme, 3 für das Bonusmaterial, insgesamt eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

All of these films are solid gold and they look great on Blu Ray. The absolute best is Weird Science. It is so off the wall and you could never get away with making a film like that in these censorious times.

This collection is brilliant - its contains 3 films and extra's and is very cheap,its brilliant value for money. Firstly the collection is well-put together - the three films are all John Hughes classics and fit perfect together. The extra's are also really good and gives new John Hughes film fans like me and old fans a real insight into John Hughes and his films. What i really love about this collection is the packaging - its well very packaged. The design is appropriate to the films,its quirky,colorful,thoughtful and there little messages making the packaging design like a yearbook which is a very good idea. I'm very impressed with the packaging as i am with the films. They are classic John Hughes film of the 80's teen genre/"brat-pack" films. They all contain good stories,cast and have mix of fun and all kinds of emotions. Weird science is crazy but really sweet and funny. Sixteen candles is very sweet and the character of Sam is very believable and easy to relate to. The end is lovely and the geeks and the Chinese dude are great. Finally the breakfast club - my fave John Hughes film. Great story and characters. The characters are easy to relate to and their emotions are captured brilliantly. Its a simple film yet really delivers all types of emotions and has a great message. Teenagers are presented well in the film and real heart is put into it. The actor's are good especially Judd Nelson who plays John Bender - he acts very well and pulls out a good performance. John Bender is my fave character - he's a bit messed up and plays up a lot but he's a fun character and provides a lot of the laughs. Overall a brilliant collection - its a well packaged and thought out collection. For new fans of John Hughes films like me its a good collection to get into his classic films and at a good price too.

Es región 1 y aun así parece pensado para público latino, the breakfast club esta en inglés subtitulado en español y sixteen candles y weird science tienen doblaje y subtiulos en español además los tres discos tienen todo el material extra subtitulado al español. No le doy las 5 estrellas porque en las fotos aparece una cubierta que no viene en la entrega final pero estoy satisfecho con la compra.
