Love it
These are a fun addition to the kitchen. Ordered a few more for friends. Works great for veggies. Not so well for leafy herbs like parsley.

Unusual, but useful
This is an unusual kitchen 'gadget'. I haven't had a lot of time to use it, but my thought is that it will make a fantastic barbeque,camping/fishing knife. While not flimsy, the plastic doesn't appear to be durable over years of use. But at the price, you can't expect it to. It has a lot of useful functions.First, I want to mention that you CAN take it apart fairly easily. I wondered this before I bought it. That is, if you pull the handles away from each other, it unsnaps, and you have a single sharp knife. This knife has a bottle opener, a serrated part that can do fish scaling, and a built in potato/carrot peeler behind the blade. The actual blade has 2 surfaces, both a smooth and a serrated face on the blade, which can help saw through bread and hot dog buns, or simply saw off ends of cuts, pieces of string, fishing line. You wouldn't need to pack any other food prep tools for a camping cookout. This snaps back together pretty easily, with no loose parts. You insert the knife part into the socket side, make sure it's hooked over the plastic hook, and simply close the scissors. Now you have a built in cutting board. I don't know about using it to cut very hard or tall things, but should work great for say small stew components. I wondered how it would actually close to cut without leaving a frayed end, but it does oversnap a bit, and the serrated part on the blade can help tear any cut remnants. There's a small red button at the bottom which 'locks' the teeth together... this becomes the built in sheath to prevent cut fingers. The engineering is pretty solid on this knife/scissor combo. It would be a must have if it were solid metal with long term durability. Of course, if it were, the price would likely be over $100. The fact that you can take the 'knife' part off means you can sharpen it also.I like it. I'm glad I bought it. We'll find out exactly how useful it is the next time we go fishing or camping, but I'm pleased with how it is designed and how it appears to work. I can't see how anyone can lose trying a pair of these for the price of a pair of plain scissors, if only to keep in the back of the drawer for a barbeque or camping trip where keeping things light, portable and easy to wash is important. If my review is helpful, please mark it helpful so I know that my detailed reviews are being read. Thanks!

disappointed
I was so excited to get this as I cut veggies for salad almost daily. The first time I used it the thing jammed and wouldn't open to continue cutting celery that I had already cut into thinner strips. I was very disappointed
