Although compared to something like the LAMY safari it is not AS reliable and doesn't work 100% of the time it is still great and writes amazing.

Matte black seems to one of those love it or hate it things, so I won't get into the pen's aesthetic appeal, which is always a subjective issue anyway. It's a fairly weighty thing, all metal as it is, so if you like them hefty, you'll like this. The converter is a typical Jinhao affair, nothing flashy but functional and quite large. I have several Jinhao pens, and the converter has never let me down in any of them. There's no ink with the pen by the way.The nib: well, this one's a stunner. I mean, really. I have 30 plus fountain pens ranging from Jinhao to Pilot to Delta, and this nib is one of the smoothest I've ever encountered. I filled the pen with Noodler's Black and wrote on Clairefontaine paper, angling the nib in several ways, and it remained smooth throughout. Even reverse writing was wet and smooth. I know that some people complain of quality control issues with Chinese pens, but what can I say... I'm tremendously impressed with this pen in all respects.

Most of the time you simply get what you pay for when you buy something that's really cheap. This pen, however, writes surprisingly well given how inexpensive it is. You can easily do better, but not in this price range. It also looks like a far more expensive pen than it is.

The cap doesn’t work but the pen works it’s a fine pen but there are better pens at a bit of a higher price
