These are beautiful. I love dainty porcelain bowls, plates, dishes…also love the design. It’s worth the price because I’ve been using it daily and it makes me smile inside every time…I think it makes my food taste better ;)

I wanted a set of tiny plates for serving small cakes, cookies, canapés or fruit. The bread plates and dessert plates that come with most American and Euro porcelain sets are too big--6.5 to 8 inches. These little Japanese plates are 4.7 inches, so I thought I'd give them a try. Wow. Not only are they the perfect size but they are absolutely exquisite. The way that Japanese craftsmen produce such beauty at such a modest price point is truly astonishing. Hand painted in traditional blues with a touch of red, each plate is different yet they all "match". There are 5 plates altogether (Japanese custom is to not sell items in "unlucky" sets of 4), they come in a lovely green gift box, and if I ever received this as a gift from someone I would be over the moon--and a bit guilty because these are so elegant looking I'd worry they spent too much!

Each design is different, and all are beautiful. Perfect little snack or sauce plates. Substantial weight. Very high quality.
