No 5.1 surround sound
Product is worth for money But the rear two speakers are very low on volume and does play same sound as the soundbar no dolby 5.1 surround If you are looking for 5.1 system this is not the one But overall sound quality is quite good

My AV amp died and I bought this to replace it. It has good sound quality, though I'm only using the centre sound bar. I had pre-existing surround speakers already mounted to the wall, so these were reused by cutting the cables and soldering on the connectors to the existing speaker wires, the speaker wires that come with are very thin and flimsy, but it seem to do the job. Probably not the best for audiophiles. The new speakers were 4ohm and not 8ohm as my existing ones, but the unit seems to drive them ok (you can go up in ohms but not down). The on-unit menu is a real pain to use as it only shows about 8 characters in a single line and it has to scroll both right to left and up and down to view the options. But fortunately the existing settings seemed quite reasonable and I only had to boost the rear speaker levels a bit. If you are picky and are going to be adjusting settings a lot this isn't for you. The ARC pass through stuff from the TV just works and the TV remote controls the sound bar volume and didn't need any configuration. It also turns off the sound bar when the TV powers down and vice versa. I don't miss the old Amp at all, I can switch sources on the TV and the digital sound is automatically routed to the speakers. Amp is still sitting there unused just to fill the gap in the TV unit :-) I did pair my phone and tried out the bluetooth connection and it worked with no hassle, but it's not something I'm probably going to use. It also can read a USB stick with music files on but I haven't tried and think it would be painful navigating files on that small display.

As the title says I've never been a sound bar person as I've always gone book shelf or surround sound speakers, however over the years I've slowly stopped using them as much as I used to and found my old bedroom setup overwhelming at times, so I took the dive to this 5.1 sound bar, I'm not disappointed with it all. The speakers are crystal clear and the sub can be both discrete and booming! I thought to be honest the sub would over power the speakers but I was pleasantly surprised by it all (I don't think my neighbours were though!) In cinema mode it immerses you into pretty much whatever you watch! Clear voice yet great detail to the background sound too and the actual direction of sound is awesome which shocked me as I'm used to having a speaker in each corner of the room! The Bluetooth is also crystal clear and my phones dts works wonderfully on it! I would definitely recommend it as an entry to mid system for a living room or bedroom, infact even a pc setup. The build quality is great and I'm yet to hit a distortion point even with bass songs or rock, I throw alsorts at it and it takes it down like a champ. Like I said for an entry to mid level 5.1 it's great, long cables for the surround speakers too and they pack a sneaky punch :) try it out! I don't think you'd be disappointed

Design - the satin/gloss black design is good and blends into the room. I've upgraded from a 10 year old 5.1 with big speakers so having small rear speakers kept the wife happy. Function - I use this in my living room with an optical cable from the TV with Sky Q and a Wii. I also use it on Bluetooth for music which is just like a portable speaker to setup. The different sound modes seem to be too similar with too much of a focus on speech and the centre channel. I have tried altering the speaker settings/gains but to little effect. Switching modes is easy but the screen is too small so changing sound settings can be painful and slow at times. I'm impressed with the menu options though and there is a lot to fiddle with. Sound quality - Films are excellent if a little focused on speech as mentioned before. Bass is good but seems to cut off far to steeply and can be a bit all or nothing. The music mode is excellent. I mainly play dance/drum and bass and it sounds crisp through the speakers with great bass. Bass is probably a bit lacking at lower volumes but it's no worse than other hi fi systems I've used. Overall a good replacement for a full 5.1 system but it's not perfect. The display screen is a bit small making menu surfing painful but the sound quality and design makes up for it.

This set up is fantastic. Easy to set up and looks good. I'm not sure what people think is loud bass, as some reviews say it's not bassy enough - I've got mine set on 3 and even at half volume the floor vibrates. My wife even got out the shower to moan about it!!! The over all sound quality is brilliant, crystal clear and has VERY good seperation - makes playing ps5 games and listening to 5.1 movies soooo much better. I love this set up and sound recommend to anyone that wants a decent, simple 5.1 sound system for very little money.

Bought this unit after buying a 4* system that was not 4* . This was set up im minutes ,easily. Turns on and off with tv and eARC. Adjusted the rear speakers (not complicated). Cable is just long enough for me ,ideally sony could make extention cables with corresponding plugs Speach is clear and not muted when stronger sounds come thru. No phasing when on low volume. Can not hear a fan. Looks good. Love the inputs. Can connect games console , tv , phone and usb all at the same time. GOOD BIT OF KIT ALL ROUND Only down.... rear speakers could go a bit louder.
