Q: My hall is 60 inches wide. Which size gate would I need?

This one is a maximum width of 62 inches so it should work. My opening is 58 so it works great.

Q: Having issues with the last step of installing! I don't understand how to tighten the adjustment bolts! Help!

After putting the screws in each of the four ends you will turn them to tighten on the wall. One side top and bottom will turn towards you, the other side will turn away from you. Tightening the ends will adjust the gate opening so it will clip closed. Make sure you added the base underneath the gate. If you have dogs that jump on the gate this will stabilize the gate to prevent it from becoming lose or crooked.

Q: How wide is it between each of the slats?

It is 3 inches measured from the outer edge of one bar to outer edge of the next; the actual gap is probably closer to 2- 3/4"

Q: Can this be installed outside?

I suppose you could use it outdoors. The coating (paint) appears to be of good quality. That's not to say it may not rust.
