Plenty Strong
I got these so I could use one mounted to the dash of my pickup to hold my cell phone. My phone has a thin metal plate attached to the back of the case and it clings to this magnet very well yet I have no problem pulling my phone off of it. I've gone down the roughest country roads I could find, over railroad crossings, etc. and the phone never moved off the magnet. The only negative is the screws that came with the magnets. They're great screws but just a little too large for the head to seat flush with the top of the magnet. For some folks that won't matter but it you need full surface contact with the magnet, just use a slightly smaller screw.

10 stars, exceeded expectations by a million times.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  WOW! If I could give these 10 stars I would.Check out this video. That’s a heavy pipe wrench THROUGH Melanie. Shelf.I bought these to secure cushions on my boat. I was planning on recessing them into the top of the seat and then recessing a second magnet into the cushion back. No need for that, I can just put a piece of metal on the back of these cushions and put these on the underside of the seat. They will secure it right through but still be easy enough to pull off and store without the hassle of snaps or Velcro.10 stars

Very strong magnets make for a great shot-ski!
Let me start this review by saying that I bought these for a very unconventional purpose and they worked great! I've been trying to make a shot-ski for years, but every time I try I run into problems. Most glues deteriorate and look tacky, besides the fact that you can never remove the glasses from the ski to clean them. So, gluing shot glasses to a ski is less than ideal. Some bars use rubber gaskets to fasten the shot glasses to the ski, but I had trouble figuring out an easy way to fasten the gaskets to the skis firmly enough to hold the shot glasses. I also didn't want to spend a ton of money figuring out a good looking way to do it. Yet another method some people use is to drill big holes in the ski so the shot glasses can sit directly through the ski. I don't like this method because I've seen glasses fall out and break, plus have you tried drilling through a ski? They have metal inside of them and to make a hole big enough for a shot glass would require tools that I do not have!SO, being the innovative "young" partier that I am, I purchased these magnets along with some stainless steel 2 oz condiment cups! Most metal shot glasses have too much nickel in them and will not stick to magnets, so you need to be careful about the cups you buy. Make sure they are magnetic! It has worked great so far! The magnets are super strong and hold the glasses down very firmly. You can turn the whole ski upside down and shake it around and the glasses don't even budge. You can also easily remove the glasses to clean them. PLUS, it looks super clean and professional! Why has nobody thought of this sooner?

They work!
I used these to hold up some led puck lights underneath my kitchen cabinets. No adhesive worked because of the heat and moisture coming from cooking. The nails that came with the lights were too small. So I thought I'd try these magnets and some super glue. I screwed the magnets to the cabinet underside and glued the other magnet to each light fixture. It all worked just right and the lights are held fast by these magnets despite the heat and moisture. Problem solved!

These suckers are POWERFUL
I screw them on walls to hang things and, generally, innovate. I used one to keep a pantry door closed when the 35 year old latch failed.

Worked as planned
I used two of these to ask as magnetic latches on a steel framed stained glass window set in a frame to allow opening and closing for cleaning purposes. The center screw holds it securely. (Have to be careful not to tighten too tightly since the earth magnet is somewhat brittle and wil break with too much pressure. Holds the window shut very well.

These work great!
One star for easy to remove but I think that would be a good thing, they should be hard to remove. I screwed them in discreet places under the dashboard of my truck and stuck knives, tools, and an ink pen to them. Very handy and easy access. They also work great for under cabinet mounting to hold a small handgun.

Dangerous
I can't believe I was dumb enough to buy these again. Why? The magnets will rip the skin from your fingers when caught between magnets snapping together. This has happened to me twice once with my first set. Again with my second. As I type this, I have a large bandage on my thumb hoping to staunch the bleeding. The magnets come in stacks of 12 and it takes a lot of muscle power to pry them apart. Thus their snapping together when I fail to do it right. Also, these magnets are very brittle and they will break when prying them apart, so many of the 12 magnets will never be used for their intended purpose. These problems would not exist if the manufacturer provided better insulation between the magnets. I would certainly be willing to pay extra for better insulation. The reason for my second purchase is these magnets are great for finding wall studs. I am attaching a grab bar in my shower. These magnets are strong enough to reach through porcelain tile to find the screws that attached the hardy board to the stud. Leave one magnet with each found screw and it is easy to find your straight line along the studs. Very useful, but ouch when they pinch.
