Go into this blind.
I'm glad I saw a suggestion for this book series on tick tok. Obviously there are a few trigger warnings. Super cool thing is at the end of each book the author has a suggested "play list"!

Take the warning seriously
I donโt want to ruin the book for any one- but one thing is for sure- take the warning in the front of the book seriously. The subject matter is pretty taboo, triggeringโฆ. This IS NOT a 50shades of grey or Anne rice sleeping beauty tabooโฆ. I will leave it at that. Now it was a good story and I couldnโt put it down. This is the first book I have read from this author and Iโm not disappointed! If you are into romance and F$;?ed up subject matter then get it!

Read the message from the author prior to starting
*Spoilers*I was intrigued to buy this book because I heard it was banned for a while and it is "extremely taboo". Well, people weren't lying about being uncomfortable, trigger warnings, etc. I'm about 50 pages in and I've put it down for the time being. I might start the second book "Free", but who knows if I'll have to table that as well. I don't know that I can go back to "Wild". I have issue with how quickly the relationship between the father and daughter developed given that the daughter was portrayed as this inexperienced young woman. Also, just, cringe nation, honestly. I can appreciate the author's artistic ability and I understand the overall essence of the relationship she is conveying, but this is one of those "themes" that I think can remain out of literature/film altogether; not something, in my opinion, that needs to be explored. Ever.

This one is pretty well written
There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written or badly written. That is all.โ - Oscar WildeLet me start this by saying I only have two hard limits when it comes to books: sexually abusing an animal and sexual abuse of a small child that is talked about in depth. And even then I might still read a book, depending on how the subject is framed. So while I understand why some people couldn't stomach this book, I'm not one of those people. Books that take me out of my comfort zone are my jam. This is one of those books that makes your stomach turn. It's like a car crash, you can't help but look. It's gross and makes you question what you think is right and wrong. It's also one of those books where you have suspend disbelief a bit. There are parts of the plot that honestly seem a bit unrealistic, but that's ok, honestly, because this is just meant for VERY taboo entertainment (also a lot of romance books are at least a bit unrealistic, so it's sticking to the genre). And entertain me it did. That might make me sick or wrong in other peoples minds but I've got to say I agree with the great Oscar Wilde on this subject; there is not morality when it comes to books, or at least you can't tell other people what they should or should not consume. Or maybe I'm just f-d up, whatever.I like K Webster books a lot, and I really liked this one. Generally speaking the more taboo the better, and she does taboo well. This book is a gem in my mind. It made me feel icky and gross and hot and bothered. Ok, I'm definitely f-d up, but whose not? While it is smut at it's heart this book pushes boundaries and makes you question/reevaluate your thinking, which is what most great books do. I've always been one to question what's right and wrong, and who gets to decide that. I'm of the firm belief that if it's not hurting anyone mind your business. And books, generally speaking, don't hurt anyone, so I think they are a great place to explore things that maybe otherwise wouldn't be explored.I think the whole debate with this book was blown way out of proportion, which is why I held off so long on actually writing my review (I actually got this book on Amazon before they banned it and read it immediately). You either don't want to read a book about this topic or not. That is all. Regardless of your reasoning that's all there is to it, and other people should not have a say one way or another about how you feel on the subject. The only thing I can say is I think this book should come with a clearer warning, I get why the author didn't do it 100%, but I also understand why there should be a clearer warning on books like this. And that's all I've got to say about that.

Wow. What did I just read? K Webster has floored me!
Where to begin with this review. The warnings on this are well-placed. So so wrong but so perfect. If you feel brave enough to venture deep into the world of taboo then read away. I spent alot of this very torn been uncomfortable and turned on. An intense and well-written story with characters you cant help but fall for. It was one Wild ride, K Webster really captured the isolation of being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but nature around, I could practically feel the landscape and remoteness. This isnt dark as such but definitely touches full on the forbidden fruit of taboo in this book. Its so cleverly written that I couldnt put it down at all. Fluid, smooth transitions between characters, past and present and a story that had me hooked. This book encompassed and ravaged me and sent my head spinning, I'm still reeling. Read if you dare, and once you start if you can keep going then dont stop, you wont regret it. I certainly didnt!

dirty and taboo
If you want a cute and mushy romance then you are looking in the wrong place, when I say this is taboo then I mean it in every sense of the word. Not all romance is hearts and flowers, some is gritty, dirty and taboo, but love all the same. As much as this book went against all my morals, I still loved it. This book was given to me as an ARC by Author K Webster and I have no idea what to say, I am lost for words ๐ If you like Taboo reads (and I mean TABOO) then this is the one for you. I had no idea what to expect when I received this book but what I read would have never entered my imagination! This is truly an amazing read and definitely send you through all the emotions....anger, disgust, love, sadness, joy, fear (yes I did just name all the characters from inside out๐๐) Despite the taboo nature of this book, I couldn't help but fall in love with the characters, especially Reed ๐ this book is wrong in all the right ways.WARNING!Not for the feint hearted! This book may make you incredibly uncomfortable and possibly offend. If you chose to read this then please be mega open minded and make sure you get to the end of the book! Extreme sexual violence in some scenes and may trigger emotional distress.Honestly I cannot stress this warning enough! As K.Webster would say....You have been warned! Read at your own risk!

The wild!
So how do you write a spoiler free review of a book that in order for other people to understand, you would have to give away a crucial point in the plot? Well I don't do spoilers, so here it goes. This was my second book by K Webster and I didn't know what she had in store for us when I bought the book. I was i by the blurb so I said why not?All I can say is that I started reading the book, read it in a few hours, but I did have to take a few breaks from it. It felt weird reading it, I felt like I had no morals for actually enjoying it and started questioning if I had an ever darker side than I originally thought. And I probably do!So the plot is a major taboo, probably a no no in most people's mind, mine included. But this is FICTION ,people. FICTION!!!! This is someone's imagination. Just because it's on paper, it doesn't mean the author believes in such acts. Some people like reading about forbidden things, myself included. A lot of books have murder, abuse, etc in them. And people don't bat and eyelash. But apparently this taboo is worse than reading about ending someone's life.I still believe this book is not for the faint hearted, hence the warning in the blurb and the warning at the beginning of the book. But people still decided to read it and then bash it and bash the author. I mean, seriously, what did they expect??? Hearts an flowers???What I will say that taboo aside, this is a beautifully written love story. The author is amazing at sucking you into the storyline so that you can't put it down. The writing is fluid, the descriptions are amazing and the characters are so well built. If you are able to think outside the box, understand that this is fiction and this is the author's imagination, go for it. You will be blown away!I purchased and read the kindle version.

Well written
This was a brilliant well written book and nothing like the people with small minds were making it out to be, yes it was warned at the beginning that it was a taboo subject but if they had actually read the book they would have realised it was more their minds that was warped than the content of the book. K Webster is an exceptional author who produces stories that draw her readers in this one was no exception. There is far worse taboo books still on Amazon and still being read that this one, this book was made out to something that it was not and if people had actually taken the time to read it they would have seen this for themselves rather than jumping on the band wagon of one persons incorrect perspective of the content in the book.

Uncomfortable, but rewarding read
Proceed with caution, but if you do you'll be well rewarded with an extremely tightly written and compulsive storyline. It's an uncomfortable read certainly and will make you think deeply about your own values and preconceptions. The Wild has been written in such a way that you are not expected to like the characters. They're flawed, just like everyone, so have character traits that are 'good' and some that are pretty questionable to say the least.Where this stands apart from something like Alexander Stuart's The War Zone - which addresses a similar theme - is that it doesn't moralise or apportion blame (whereas the female lead in that book is clearly portrayed as a manipulative Eve-type character). For me that makes the writing in The Wild far superior and although it made me very uncomfortable throughout, I feel intellectually richer for the experience.
