9041 Black Small Ergo Supreme Leatherette Steering Wheel Cover

I recently purchased a 2013 Kia Soul Base and the only thing I didn't like about my new car was the steering wheel. Two weeks earlier, my wife purchased a new 2013 Kia Soul Plus and her steering wheel was made of a much better quality material than mine. My steering wheel was soft, but the material was very abraisive to my touch... almost like holding a roll of sand paper. Her steering wheel was made of soft, very comfortable leather. I know my Soul is one class lower than hers, but come on Kia... why go cheap on something so important as comfort, especially when it comes to a steering wheel?Anyway, I knew I would have to invest in a steering wheel cover, but really didn't want to spend big bucks for high-quality leather covers available on the internet for $50 - $75. I started my search by shopping at Walmart, Target, K-Mart and then auto part stores like AutoZone, O'Reily's and Pepboys. The problem wasn't that any of these stores had a steering wheel cover that I liked at a reasonable price, many of them did, but the problem was all of the steering wheel covers that were available were a medium 14.5 - 15.5 inch size and my Kia Soul required a small size of 13.5 - 14.5 inches which none of the above stores carried in stock?So I turned to the internet for help and one night spent at least 2 hours (or more) searching everywhere for a small sized steering wheel cover, but came up empty. I even tried the official Kia website, but nothing. Frustrated and almost ready to give up, I googled a different choice of key words and FINALLY stumbled upon the official Moda Motorsports website. I was amazed with all the choices of steering wheel covers to pick and choose from, including the 9041 Black Ergo Supreme Leatherette cover which they offered in small, medium and large. Problem solved right? Wrong!After multiple attempts to create an account with Moda Motorsports so I can place an online order, I discovered that the website wasn't working correctly? So I contacted them thru their "contact us" page and also send them a direct email. I decided that since this looked like the only place where can order this sized cover, which I really wanted, I decided to wait a few days for a response from Moda Motorsports.Honestly, I can't remember if I searched on Amazon for this exact steering wheel cover, I know I did search Amazon, but I don't recall seeing this steering wheel cover before finding the Moda Motorsports website. Two days have passed since my attempt at contacting Moda Motorsports and I was getting very tired of driving my new car with this very uncomfortable steering wheel. I decided to purchase a different steering wheel cover on Amazon which was a "Extra Soft and Smooth Designer Steering Wheel Cover Soft Synthetic Sheepskin Leather With Sublte Circular Pattern, Size: Small, Color: Black by Wisconsin Auto Supply". This steering wheel cover, to be honest, wasn't worth the price and I ended up returning it for a refund (I will be submitting a review as to why I returned it soon).So after searching again on Amazon, I finally found the Moda Motorsports 9041 Black Small Ergo Supreme Leatherette Steering Wheel Cover and since there were 8 "small size" covers available.... I placed my order...YEA... WHOOPIE!!! But after a two week delay due to conditions beyond Amazon's control... I FINALLY recieved my new Moda Motorsports steering wheel cover!!!It took a bit of an effort to get the darn thing on, but when I did, it didn't take long for me to realize that this steering wheel cover was and IS one of the best investments I could have made for my brand new car... I LOVE IT!!! With this steering wheel cover installed, I no longer have to drive holding that sand-paper like Kia steering wheel. This steering wheel cover is very soft to the touch and the ergo design feels great! It does make the steering wheel slightly thicker and yes, it doesn't completely wrap around the diameter of the steering wheel, but unlike the other steering wheel cover mentioned earlier, the Moda Motorsports ergo grips makes holding the steering wheel more comfortable. The other steering wheel cover didn't have the ergo grips (or padding) and when I held the wheel, my fingers were getting sore from the edge of the steering wheel cover... I couldn't wait to peel that other steering wheel cover off after using it only once! The way the Moda Motorsports 9041 steering wheel cover is designed is perfect and did I say IT FEELS GREAT... IT REALLY DOES!!! I recommend this product and give it 5 stars!!!!!One last note. About a week before Amazon finally shipped the item (and it didn't take but two days to be delivered), I finally recieved a response from Moda Motorsports. It seems they were relocating from one location to another and while they were in transit, were not keeping up on their emails or website customer service requests. You would think someone in that company would be checking emails & etc? But I will offer this bit of advice... if you're searching for a steering wheel cover and like I said, Moda Motorsports offers many different choices and sizes, check out their website and after you find the cover that you like and the size that you need... search on Amazon and see if that exact cover is available and if it is.... BUY IT ON AMAZON! I was darn lucky that this steering wheel cover WAS available on Amazon, even if I had to wait a bit longer to finally get it... IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!!

Looks great fits great but the very next day it started tearing and so far has one tear in just the first week!

I just got done installing this cover. This is my experience:Car: 2004 Toyota Solara (14.5 inch steering wheel)Unboxing: The cover comes wrapped around a stiff piece of plastic. Having no idea how tough it was, it was rather unnerving applying large amounts of force to pull it off- but it came off eventually, but took a good amount of strength.Product: White rubber tubing wrapped in some sort of black stretchy "leather" and the padding is not leather how it looks in the picture, they are cloth sections that feel like car seats. NOT the dark brown leather that the picture depicts.Installation: Here's the first major problem. I'm a pretty strong guy, I work out everyday. I feel confident in saying that the vast majority of women and less strong men could NOT have had success installing this alone. It took all my strength to slowly inch this thing on, stretching it way harder than I felt comfortable with. It took all the energy I had in my fingers, forearms, and biceps to finally get it to squeeze all the way around the wheel. After it was installed, I noticed that the bottom had developed 2 small tears in the leather and in the rubber tubing- just from installation on the appropriate sized wheel... The "leather" wrapping is saggy and sloppy around the tubing and makes the car feel so much cheaper. The padded sections are also stretched awkwardly around the wheel and would not line up regardless of how hard I tried.I will be returning this item due to misleading picture and description and poor build quality. I really hate bashing on a company's product- but I felt really confident in this purchase based off other reviews but I was sadly mistaken. If you have a 13.5" steering wheel, I bet you will have much better luck but keep in mind that the padded sections are black CLOTH and NOT dark brown leather.

For my 09 Civic this was an excellent fit. I've had a few steering wheel covers that were either: not securely fitted to the wheel and slides as you would turn, or just didn't fully cover the area where your hands grip the wheel. This steering wheel cover is a perfect, no sliding and good secure wheel coverage. It's soft material is incredible: plush comfort, secure and keeps your hands warm. I hope it last a very long time if not I am going to simply buy this again.UPDATE: 25-Aug-2014After months of joy and comfort provided by the neat leatherette cover I am sad to report the leatherette has failed. I noticed cracking in the material. In some areas peeling has occurred. These are prevalent in the areas where I would repeatedly grip the wheel for support when it comes to turns, braking or just playing it cool. However the integrity of the wheel cover remains intact. I bit the bullet and removed the material entirely. To my surprise, and relief, the wheel cover has continued to provided comfort and support without the leatherette.I would purchase this product again, or its upgraded version, if a more resilient material replace the leatherette.
