CARL RM-18/2 21-Inch Cutting Mat for all 18-Inch Trimmers

It was exactly what I was looking for and it works great

Just a warning to buyer. I read the product name wrong and since it said it was an: "18" Cutting Mat", I measured the last mats I had on trimmer and they were 18" so I bought this one... Wrong size. They are 21+" long so way too long and of course now package is opened and can't send back. At least someone has a saw here and we are going to try cut them down.Buyer - just pay attention to the actual product dimensions listed below the ad for the mats. The name description is confusing.

Fits perfectly. Best part was the instructions that let me know each mat has four sides to use for cutting. Turns out I have not used the replacement yet because the original still had three sides to use. This was super.

I purchased the CARL Professional Rotary Paper Trimmer 18 inch with all the replacement blades and extra cutting mats as a gift and the recipient has now used the unit heavily for a respectable amount of time and absolutely adores it. I carefully researched paper trimmers online for quite a while before making my final decision and I'll admit that I was a bit hesitant considering some of the negative reviews I was seeing about this particular company, but I proceeded because I was attracted by the number of accessories available for this series. I figured it was worth the risk. Well, I'm pleased I made the decision I made because it has already paid for itself over and over again in the quality of its construction and performance and the joy my gift recipient is getting from it. I would purchase another CARL product again in a heartbeat.

This mat fit into my Carl paper trimmer perfectly and made cutting immeasurably easier. I hadn't realized how much difference the mat made; when I'd tried changing blades and that didn't do it, I tried reading the directions. I use the trimmer for cutting photographic paper, and a precise cut is essential. It's nice that the cutting mat can be reversed, flipped and reversed again, giving many more miles out of it. I keep a few spares in the house at all times; they're cheap and they pay for themselves with the first non-botched cut after I finally swap them in.
