Frost and Flame

This series is my new obsession! Frost and Flame is the second book in Gena's all new God's of War series. This book was just as epic as the first, Shadow and Ice! Non stop action, romance and revenge. I highly recommend reading this book but strongly suggest you read the books in order as they are written during the same time frame.We met Bane and Nola during Knox and Vale's story(Shadow and Ice) catching only glimpses of their time together that left us begging for more. For everything and Gena delivered!Their story starts off by giving us the background on Bane's heartbreaking past and subsequent reason for being a combatant in the all war. Bane is a fierce warrior with a literal beast living inside him that no one can control, not even him. Both him and beast live only for revenge against the ones they hate most. No one and nothing will stand in their way to achieve it.Chapter one starts off where we first met Knox, Vale and Nola in the last book. We finally get to see what was happening behind the scenes with Nola and her boys that we only caught glimpses of yet desperately wanted to know about!Nola with her own traumatic past she's trying to forget, has lived with unimaginable pain her entire life thanks to lupus and fibromyalgia. She is an opioid addict just trying to manage some of her pain, survive and make a life with her foster sister Vale. She's a very unique choice for a heroine and one I think so many can relate to. Her character teaches us there's no concrete definition to the meaning strong or warrior. That when you're willing but your body is unable to fight it sometimes leaves only your heart and mind as weapons which can be every bit, if not more, effective in battle. Sometimes that's the best show of strength there is.Their book takes us on a fast paced, action and romance packed journey where we learn there's always a way to overcome any obstacle. Even if it's not the way we imagined. That we need to let go of the past and look forward to the future.We get a few interactions with the mysterious Zion, who's book I'm thinking will be next, yet leaves us wanting more, with need for answers now! Gena has created so many new and wonderful characters that even as I hunger for Zion's story I'm craving all the others secrets as well! I'm beyond interested in the majority of them that I'll be ecstatic to read whoever she writes about next! They're just all so intriguing, even the ones most would consider enemies or villians, that I just want to crawl into this world and not come out until I've gotten to know each and every character fully!

When an alien race decides to invade Earth,little did they know, humans can become so much more!! If you are into sci-fi and fantasy this series is for you.Thanks to the author, Gena Showalter. Please keep writing and I will continue to read your books.

I love the characters you they are fun and interesting. You care about them. So well written you can seethe scene. I fell into this book and didn't want to come out.

Here we are again. Back in this awesome world of war, strength and love that Gena Showalter has created. It's especially nice to be sort of back in Strawberry Valley! The strength and determination, the survival instinct, that Nola Lee poses is awe inspiring. The horror and the pain of her diseases would destroy anyone. But not her. Her dream man helps too. Her need to get to him, to Russia is so strong she battles her pain and makes the journey with her best friend. Her sister. Nothing however turns out how she expected. Bane is real. And he is so much more than she ever thought he would be. Strong. Intense. A beast of a man. And also the only one who takes away her pain, whom she can touch and not feel sick. But there us also so much more to her then she ever could have imagined. Will this battle they are fighting be won? Can Bane trust and love again? Will Nola survive? This is hands down a five star read that I could not put down! I devoured it! I am in serious withdrawal and will be battling massive depression until the next one is published!

Frost and Flame is book two in the Gods of War series. God's of War follows immortal warriors sent to earth or Terra to fight in an all war the winner gets to rule earth. The last warrior standing wins.Bane has won two all wars already he thought he was done until his queen told him he would fight again when he refused she killed his wife, Bane vowed to win and find a way to kill Aveline, his queen. He would do that by finding another royal, completing the blood right then kill Aveline. Bane didn't expect Nola, the beautiful, quick witted, heart of gold woman.Magnolia Lee grew up in foster care, she has been sick most of her life suffering from Lupus. Her foster sister Vale is her reason for living. After traveling to Russia and finding men frozen in ice, Vale and Nola have been separated. Nola soon finds out that she is not human she is a hybrid and Bane wants to make her his next queen.Bane and Nola go through many trials many near death experiences, learning to trust one another to get what they both want. This is an action packed, fast paced book!!

First off, I am a huge fan of Gena's books! I read everything she puts out. In all this ti.e I have never been disappointed and after reading Frost and Flame (Gods of War) book 2 I am even more in love. Nola truly hit my heart hard..I have suffered from fibromyalgia, an unusual form of bone cancer and other things that had made me suffer severe pain, weakness etc every minute of everyday for the last 30yrs. Nola is an amazing young woman who refuses to let her diseases stop her from taking a trip of a lifetime with her sister to Sweden and Russia. What can't tell Vale is that she is dreaming a certain golden god of a man every night who begs her to come to him. To help him. Nola worries she's finally losing her mind but she is determined to find out. In the meantime, Bane is one of the soldiers sent to fight in the All War 1300 yrs ago. He is one of many that were frozen alive by the Viking Erik. If you have the first book then you've met Erik and several of the other combatants. I highly recommend this book and the series. You will fall hard for Nola Lee and Bane. Enjoy!💜😊💜

I really enjoyed nola and banes story. Their both great character's with big hearts even though they have rough back storys.I loved how book one and two tie together I can't wait to see who or what comes next.

I can't get enough of Gena Showalter. I adore her alpha males!!I thought no one could top Knox....but beasty-boy Bane may have done it!Please write more...and quickly. Gena you provide all of my book boyfriends between this series and Lotu (Gideon....sigh). I can't be separated from them for long so please write quickly!!
