This is a decent pinpoint detector and especially for the price. It will hit on metal in soil about 1 - 2 inches below the tip of the detector. Never could get the side scan to work consistently. It will find nails in logs fairly well. If you must have a very accurate, water proof, deep detecting pinpointer then save you money and get a Garrett. If you just need a casual toss around pinpointer then this might work well for you. I might buy it again. But I might look at another option as well.

So I've only had it 1 day but I was shocked at not only how accurate it was but also how much of a time save it was. This is 100% worth the price I paid, I only wish I had bought it sooner.

This was the best price of all I looked at so I expected junk. I purchased this for the purpose of locating metal (nails & staples) in pallet wood after I sawed into a nail and it shot pretty deep into my hand. This metal detector feels solid and it has some weight to it. The holster was a great addition. It has a flashlight which comes on automatically when you push the button to turn it on. It beeps and vibrates within 5-6” of metal. It shuts off automatically when you’re done. It’s so easy to find the metal and remove it before running it through my saw or destroying my sandpaper (or hand). I dropped an expensive router bit into a pile of saw dust on the floor today and I was able to find it fast. Before I got this, that bit would’ve likely been swept up and thrown away. This was a great addition to my toolbox. Get yourself one of these and you’ll be surprised at all of ways you can use it.

Works well at finding metals, I made the mistake of letting my great grandkids try it out and they love it lol
