I bought this gold pop-up basin waste to replace an old one, but I’m quite disappointed with it. The finish looks attractive at first glance, but it started to fade and show water spots after just a few uses. It’s advertised as solid brass, yet it feels quite light and cheap in the hand. The pop-up mechanism is unreliable – sometimes it sticks down and won’t release unless you press it several times. The rubber seal isn’t great either; I noticed a slow leak not long after fitting it, even though everything was tightened properly. It’s a shame, because it does look smart when new, but the quality simply doesn’t match the description. I’d recommend spending a bit more for something sturdier that actually works as intended.
