I love these lights they are the only one that work I my outdoor fixtures

Great purchase! Don’t hesitate. I installed one at my front porch and one in the back. They are still working after 3 years! Consistently turn on and off. Nice warm light. They also greatly reduce bug accumulation. I would highly recommend.

Have tried other bulbs with dusk to dawn sensors that did not truly sense the ambient light well, and they would come on only in the dead of night, sometimes would not turn off, and never seemed consistent. I put these Philips bulbs in my porch fixtures in the front and back of my home and they are really, really good at sensing when the lights ought to come on. And they turn off consistently in the morning.The bulbs themselves are rated for 800 lumens of soft white light. Subjectively these are strong lumens, as the 8 watts they consume are roughly equivalent to the 13watt philips bulbs I used to replace 75 watt incandescent bulbs.I used one of these bulbs as the primary light in my laundry room downstairs and it does a good job.I really like these bulbs, they cost a little more than generic sensor bulbs, but they work SO much better in my experience. Light output, quality of light and the high quality sensor really make these bulbs my "Go to" bulb for places where I need light that will turn itself off at dawn.I have Philips Led bulbs throughout my home and have not yet had ANY failures for going on three years. These are my new "Go to" bulbs for when I need a light sensor bulb. HIghly recommended.

I can’t believe I had never heard about these before and I’m so sad I didn’t!!I bought these because I researched light bulbs for my home’s exterior. I use these for EVERY exteriorlight fixture now and have not had one issue!The sensor works great even though each one is in an enclosure. I used to leave the exterior lights on all of the time so we wouldn’t forget to turn themon each evening.I have not had to replace any bulb yet.It is important to realize that these might not workin some situations. Someone mentioned they cannot use these in a lighting fixture in which two bulbs are used because if one lights up, the other one won’t because the sensor recognizes light and these light up based on light sensed.I also noticed both of my front porch lights weren’t lit up and thought it was odd that they had blown at the same time. Then I noticed that my Christmas lights were so illuminated that the bulbs turned off (as they are supposed to). When I turn off my Christmas lights, the bulbs don’t turn on on their own. I have to flip the light switch on and off a few times and then they turn on— this isn’t a big deal because Christmas light are up for a few months a year.Recommendation: review your lighting setup needs before buying and make sure other lights won’t cause one light to stay off. Also note that when you first screw in the bulb, it may not light up right away because the bulb senses sunlight.These are fantastic and I will never buy a regular exterior lightbulb again!!

In every way. I almost never write a review but this bulb is the bomb. For years I've struggled with a light sensor attachment for my front porch bulb so it would come on at dark and go off in the day. That was hopeless, probably because the bulb was under a porch roof. The only way it would turn off was if I shined a bright flashlight directly into the sensor's hole. As a result, my porch light was on 24/7 and I was embarrassed, in my eco-green community, because I was burning electricity around the clock . To give this new bulb a fighting chance I also purchased a "Torchstar" light extender adapter to lower it another one and a half inches from the porch ceiling. Then I watched, as the day began to get darker. I was in disbelief when, as dusk was upon us, my new bulb beamed on all by itself. The next morning I watched in anticipation to see if it would turn itself off. OMG, it worked like a dream. I can't believe it. I never have to worry about whether the light is on or off, this "smart" bulb does it all. And the light quality is wonderful, not cold like an operating room, but warm and bright. And the fantastic news for me is that it works underneath my porch ceiling. Brilliant, I say.
