Perfect for my 12 string with unique neck shape
I recently got a 12 string guitar with a V-shaped neck, all this was new to me. Based on other buyer's reviews, I chose this specific capo for 12 string guitars. It holds all of the strings evenly, despite the neck shape. My other more basic capos did not fit properly, I could not get an even distribution of pressure across the fretboard for clear sound. This capo does the job nicely and is easy to use.

Great 12 String capo
This is an excellent capo. It is easy to use, and does not distort the tuning of the guitar. It is a 12 string specific capo and is just terrific

This versatile capo helps eliminate re-tuning.
If you are just an average joe leaning to play the guitar who wants to play guitar in different keys without learning all those new chords, or if you have small hands, like me, and cannot navigate the complex chords, get a capo. But not just any capo, get a Shubb. I had been using Dunlup trigger capos for many years. When I purchase another guitar, the other guy showed me his Shubb capo.Shubb capos are unique in that they allow you to adjust the pressure on the string to change the key but not stretch the strings out of tune. It's handy when you are playing with and without a capo or moving your capo throughout a song set with your band. Since you have it set for the tension you need, when you remove it and put it back on, the tension is still there, correctly set and most likely in tune.Shubb has many different capos. Below are pictures comparing some of them, one on top of the other, so you can see the difference. The S3, purchased here, is on the bottom of the two capos. One pictures, with the black bar the same length, shows the L3 or lite 12 string capo. Notice two things: 1. The distance between the black bar on top black pad on the lower part on this capo is less than on the L3 on top. For acoustic guitars this is not a problem, but I have an electric 12 string and the L3 is a bit too narrow. It will go one it but puts too much tension on the strings and pull them out of tune. The L3 handles the thicker neck. 2.If you look closely, the curve of the black bar on top of the L3 is more than the S3 below so while the L3 pushes down on the outer strings on the neck, the inner strings are not pushed down enough on my electric 12 string with the 13.7" (350mm) radius neck. The L3 must be for a different radius neck? Yes, you can tighten the tension so it pushes the inner strings but more pressure on the outer strings so they start to go out of tune. But guess what? Shubb has a S3v for the thicker neck guitar. I will review that when I get it. Which takes us to the second picture. The shorter black bar on the top is a S1 6 string capo and the S3 12 string is on the bottom. Notice first, the bottom bar, the neck bar, is a bit longer on the S3 on the bottom and that there is a bit more space between the upper and lower bar of the S1. This little extra space was enough for me to use it on my electric 12 string. Yes there was a bit more tension on the strings, but it was minimal and required just a bit of retuning. The S3v will remedy this problem when it arrives. (Oh, my Dunlop was already in use on my 6 string.)Even if you are an experienced guitar player looking for a new capo, give this a try. It may not be as fast as the Dunlop Trigger Capo, but once set, it should always keep your strings in tune.

Best capo
Super easy to adjust. Works on my sigma 12 string. The clamp style are easier to move around, but these are superior.I tune my 12 string to Eb and almost always play it capo 1. This is the capo I leave on it. In fact, I've used a second capo sometimes for multi key songs...

Works great
As described works really good and beyond that. Super easy to operate and helped me tune my 12 string down a half step.

Works great for 12 strings!
I have a dunlop capo and one of those shark shaped capos I'm sure you guys have seen here. Neither of them cooperated on my Larivee 12 string I took a chance and I'm happy to say Shubb does the job perfectly! It all comes down to being able to make the micro adjustments. I have to adjust the capo differently from the first fret than I do on the fifth otherwise Ill hear a buzz on the lighter gauge strings. My piece of advice for anyone looking to purchase a 12 string capo would be use this one but at minimum buy one with the tension adjuster, its completely necessary

Good quality and fine adjustment.
Capo has limited neck thickness adjustment- seems like it is designed more for electric 12-string guitars than for acoustic guitars. I have a guitar with a relatively thin neck, but the adjustment is at maximum and very tight at mid-range frets.

It is a super capo BUT ...
... when I tried to use it on my Martin D35S and D28S, the space between the rubbery part and the neck is too tight to fit it on properly. The newer roller design with the little wheel and the spring take up too much space, for these type of necks. This may be a special case, because Martin S-models are not that common anymore, but for Martin S-models I suggest to use the 'Shubb GC-20TB Standard 12-string Guitar Capo - Brass ' - it works!
