Bear Hugs (Step-Into-Reading, Step 1)

I purchased the level 1 books to enjoy reading to my kindergardener and as a first grader she revisited them by rereading them to me. Close reading is a comprehension strategy taught in all schools that requires literature to be read and reread and reread developing comprehension skills each time it's read. Each level is considered mastered when the student can read the book at a pace similar to the pace of everyday converstation and when the child understands what is being read. Begin young children with the pre-primer books. Read, read and then reread again. Eventually you will discover that they will begin reading them to you. The beauty of these books is that there are many books at each level and they are easily identified in the big colored circle on the front cover.When your child can confidently read you the stories at a good pace and answer questions about the story well you can begin reading the next level to them. The process continues through each level.I can't think of another way that parents, even the busy ones, who want to simply enjoy literature or enforce literacy as it is done at school in such a strait forward easy to follow way.

Slightly more difficult than some of the other books we've been reading, but a good story, nevertheless, and the kids love the different kinds of hugs baby bear gets from his parents. We also like Capucilli's Biscuit series.

Xmas gift--I liked it.

This book is about a bear who loves getting hugs. She loves getting all sorts of hugs including funny and messy hugs.I found this to be a very sweet book. For us, the kids ended up wanting this book to be read to them rather then reading it to themselves. I think this is due to the fact this book was fun to read, but had advanced phonics making it difficult to read to themselves.Regardless if you are reading this book to your kids or they are reading it to themselves, this is a very sweet story. I can tell you from first hand experience, this book has been read many times over in my home.

kindle 版で購入。レイアウトが2ページが1ページにまとめられているところと、1ページのままのところがあり、非常に見にくいです。内容は心温まるものだけに残念。
