Let's Bake a Cake! (Play*Learn*Do) Novelty Book – Lift the flap, April 5, 2016

My son adores this clever, attractive book. We have owned it about 24 hours and read it as many times. What a fun concept! At almost 2, he can use most of the tabs himself. He is obsessed with play cooking and birthdays--this is so perfect! I will definitely consider getting other books in this series.

I purchased this book for my great nephew who is almost 2. It’s interactive and I may need to hold off because I think he might rip it up.

This is a great little book about how to make a cake. As a novice baker, I'd say it's a good representation. Also it has lots of sliders for kids to move back and forth. The reason I only gave it four stars is because the sliders are tight and a little hard to move. In fact the first time I went through the book, one of them tore. But it still works, so I can't complain too much. I would buy this again. It's perfect for toddlers, especially those who like helping in the kitchen.

This book is a favorite! It is so fun. My daughter just turned 4 and still loves to read this book and pretend to bake her own cake! It would be a great gift for a 3 year old!

I love the author's other play/do books and this is a lovely addition!My son has sensory and eating issues, so this book has put a bit of ease into those issues by showing him that making a cake (and pretend eating/blowing out candles) should not be scary.He loves carrying around this book in the house, especially in the kitchen when I am cooking.

This book is so much fun!Super creative:)My 3 year old wants to read it over and over. She needs a little assistance with some of it.

Cons: This book is 4 pages. I wish it outlined steps. For example, first pour the flour. NEXT pour the sugar. It doesn't really say it like a story or an easy to follow recipe story for kids. Also the flaps aren't made of sturdy board material so after 1day of just me reading it, it has started to wrinkle and show signs of wear. It isn't sturdy for kids.Pros: My kids still love it. I love the creative way they used flaps and pulls to "pour" flour, measure sugar, crack eggs, stir, set timers and "watch" the cake rise, pour the glaze etc. Very cute!Conclusion:I would probably get it again because it is a very cute creative and interactive. I hope the publishers just make the flaps especially the egg cracking flap more sturdy and durable so it lasts longer. Its a great gift for a 3 to 4 year old.

Wonderful book, unfortunately ours was ripped and had to return it but the book itself is great and I will reorder it. Hopefully that one won’t be damaged.
