Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party - Software Only - Nintendo Wii

So I recently purchased this game and it's fun and all, but it's missing a few things.It's cool that I can use my Wii Pro Controller, but the problem is that I cant change the song speed. See, I grew up playing the DDR games with x2 speed enabled. I know, I know the DDR games are meant to be played at x1 speed, but that's boring as hell and too damn slow for me. I like to change it up by enabling the dance settings to x2 speed. With x2 speed, it breaks up the arrows just a bit to the point where I can time things better and the songs are actually way more fun. And unfortunately in the Wii DDR games, there are no hidden menu options for songs in these games like all the other DDR games (the PS1 DDR games don't have these options either, unfortunately).So hate to break it to my fellow x2 speed players, but you cant enable those settings on these games. It's a good thing I got this game for cheap and only purchased one DDR game for the Wii. I'll still keep it of course, but it wont be as fun to me now. It will be great for parties because I have a dance pad for it. But other than that, it'll just be sitting in my collection until I get done with my backlog of games and get bored to the point that I dust off the game and give it another go on x1 speed.

I purchase this game to add to my workout type games and have fun while moving around. First time every playing the game today and I am hooked, but the game is pretty hard for an older woman (37) tring to get back in shape. I sit around at work on a computer all day and this is a great way to get moving and relief some stress after a long day. Be sure to close the window shades or your neighbors will have a great time laughing at the show you put on while trying to keep up.I use this game mixed with Wii Fit, EA Active, EA Active More, Golds Gym Cardio Boxing, Wii Sports & Deca Sports to keep me motived to get moving everyday.

As a serious Wii fitness player, and expert DDR gamer, I'm obsessed with finding DDR games and equipment. I didn't have this version of DDR (DanceDance Revolution Hottest Party - Software Only) though I had played it before. In fact, this is the first ever DDR game I played on the Wii. This game helped me figure out how to DDR to the beat! Even though this is the first-re-incarnation of DDR for the Wii by Konami, it is excellent. I own all the other Wii DDR titles as well and each game has improved some things and/or incorporated some other ideas that I don't think improves the play of the game from this fitness gamer's viewpoint.Oh, the point of this review is that this is the second time I've purchased something important to me from Goodwill and I must say, excellent quality and excellent service. Thank you! And it was less than one dollar(!) not including s&h.

My daughter loves this. The one we bought came with a mat. Although we initially had some trouble getting it to recognize her steps, she liked it so much we also bought "Hottest Party 2" and an extra mat so that another person can use it at the same time and "challenge" her.I tried using it and it's hard to keep up with it. It's heavily choreographed and goes surprisingly fast, so I would recommend it for the younger set or for older, very fit folks.

At first I hated it. I was used to old school DDR and this one has all the hand motions and extras I dont like. But I discovered you could turn all the new stuff off and play classic. And then it was a blast. Great game

Really fun but the Hottest Party 3 is the best because it's the only one that is compatible with the balance board as well as the dance mat.

So freaking hard- the game difficulty changes based on previous performance rather than remaining static, which can be incredibly frustrating when you have shattered previous records but still fail the challenge. Grading is arbitrary. Also you must be more precise in your movements than any of the other games. Fun, challenging, but also frustrating. HATED the cover songs, but did appreciate the remixes.

So far this game is just okay, the tracks are not licensed and original so it kind of throws me off. Comparing this to DDR3, is impossible for just that reason. It's basically the same with that major exception. I got this to have more songs to dance to, and it serves that purpose. Only 3 stars for this reason, but I knew from reading other reviews that would be the case so i was not surprised. It's still fun and great excersize anyway, and like the variety of music.

Bought as a gift- had a lot of fun while using it.
