The Stream light SL-20 is a flashlight that exceeds it's reputation.

I have owned many flashlights. Some are super bright with lots of advertised lumens but I found they may not be as practical. One brand I owned doesn’t have a reflector but a fancy len with a fancy name. I found that one too wide too bright to be any practical uses. Especially when the projected light gets reflected back at you from the nearby objects, they never seem to get the (rated) projected distance as well.You do need a good reflector to make the lumen rating relevant.This one only spots 450lumen but it can light up object at a great distance. I like to use it to check the drainage condition at the end of a long driveway at my house.One issue is that it will slowly lose charges unless you keep it on the charger. Although, the manual said ok and no memory effect will occur to the nimh batteries.

I just got this light. it was to replace lost SL-20XLED that has been misplaced. First let me say that the SL20X LED it a great flashlight it is bright and the LED part makes the light a very usable tool with a battery that "lasts forever". That said, this light blows the old standard away. The light seems easily twice as bright, much whiter and with the adjustable brightness capability will be a more enjoyable tool. I purchased the polymer version because I do not have the intention of using it as a weapon so it is much lighter than the aluminum version. The folks at Streamlight said that the sleeves from the old SL20s... will work with this new flashlight -- but if you have an old "Gray" sleeve expect failure - it doesn't work and their only solution is to go to Amazon and purchase a new sleeve. I am hoping that purchasing this new flashlight will cause the old light to be found then I will have two great flashlights,.

Used for law enforcement. Lightweight, long battery life, easy to hold under the arm pit so you can keep your hands free. I have had several over the years. Don't waste your money on a metal flashlight.

This is a little less bright than the last one I had, but if you use it all night , it’s a life saver. I wouldn’t have needed a new one until someone stole mine. I still have my old condecent one from 21 years ago and it still worke. I will continue to buy this. Only bad thing is the battery isn’t cheap AT ALL,, and they tend to go bad a little sooner than expected.
