This is a kit that is high quality and full of detail. If you take your time, this model reward you with great fit over the whole kit that brings it home with the value for the money. I have been building models for many years and this is one of my favorites.

This model looks SO good once it’s complete. Tamiya really did a good job engineering how all the pieces went together. This kit was so much harder to complete than any other car model I’ve ever built. It isn’t so hard that I couldn’t do it, but it definitely is more involved than other car models. It’s mostly to do with the body. On other models, the body is, for the most part, one piece. On this model, each fender is an individual part. The roof is like five or six parts. The hood is two parts. Etc. Again, it’s not impossible to build a nice finished product, but this is definitely not for a beginner modeler. I’d say an advanced-intermediate or better in experience is required to make a good end result. Even then, it requires a lot of patience and fully understanding the instructions to complete it. All that said, this is a very rewarding model to finish well. It challenges the builder and the final product looks amazing - especially if you’re a fan of the real-life car.

Another home run for tamiya! Was excited to get going on this, but when I was looking it over, I discovered the main body structure was damaged beyond repair. However, a quick email to tamiya customer service, and a replacement part was in my hands! Tamiya customer service is fantastic! The kit is incredibly detailed, goes together perfectly, and the finished model is beautiful!

Advanced engineered car translates to advanced engineering on tamiya model car. Detail and fit are right and right. One fire orange, one metallic icy blue in photos. Sprue attachments need to be perfectly cleaned up. Use as thin a glue as you are comfortable with. It’s all about the painting and building, not many decals.

Challenging build. Was intimidated by the kit having close to 250 parts. It took me a full week to complete it. I'm so glad I built though because it looks great with my other cars. There is a lot of painting involved in this kit. So, have plenty semi gloss black on hand. Also, make sure when fitting parts together that you do it correctly or you will pay for it at the end when placing the under panels on. I know this because I built a mock up of the kit first with Mod Podge craft glue. Anyway, this kit wasn't as bad as I thought would be however, I made plenty of mistakes along the way when building it. Overall though, this kit was a blast to build.

First order came as an open box item, no original packaging...I requested a replacement and I received an open box item again...nowhere in the description says it is an open box item. Returning it again

I’ve built a few cars now and also tanks. This set is complex. Nothing like regular cars. The detail on it all is top notch, as you’d expect from Tamiya. Just prepare yourself for a real challenge. Lacquer paints are recommended so I bought those. I found you need slightly more red than yellow to get the correct shade of orange. 1:1 is recommended. I’d say (yellow/red): 3:4. You will also need clear CA or other clear non destructive glue to fix much of the outer panels together else you are in for a world of pain. BTW, if you mess up the lacquer paints, just dip parts in isopropyl alcohol for a few mins and the paint almost falls off.
