All opinions are my own.Considering I'd read Kristen Callihan's "Idol" before, I truly believed she could do no wrong and I was absolutely right. I instantly fell in love with Lucian and Emma. Their personalities and life stories instantly pulled me in and I wanted to know more. I don't need to even say this but Kristen Callihan's writing style is absolutely amazing.Don't even get me started on the food! Just listening to her describing all the food had me wanting to eat it all and let's not even go to the fact that Lucian is absolutely wonderful. He's got the whole "I hate everyone" attitude down but he's a softie inside and he can cook! That's the cherry on top.I loved watching them grow when each of them just wanted to hide from all of life's problems and gravitate toward each other. I honestly thought that they were in fact perfect for each other. The perfect balance in each others' lives.Kristen Callihan once again blew my world away with a romance that I keep wishing was real and her story-building, character-building and just everything else was amazing.

And I think it’s because I have too much knowledge of the hero’s injury. I just felt it was not well represented. Or perhaps mixed up with another condition. Making the conflict in the end of this story for me, unbelievable. I understand no two injuries are the same, but it just didn’t jive for me.There are some sweet and fun moments. Some fun side characters. And it will absolutely make you crave delicious sweets. This storyline however, moves quite slowly, with a lot of inner monologue. It’s definitely a slow burn romance as well. But they seem to go from not even kissing to full (constant) steam ahead. Bringing that chemistry finally, but it was missing connection for me. If you don’t know the injury, you’ll probably be fine and enjoy it. But I think that’s what ultimately made this story just okay for me personally.

A beautiful story about two people that have suffered deep blows to their careers and the way they see themselves, there is emotional upheaval but also a lot of growth and forgiveness, as well as learning to love and to trust. Lucian and Emma have their own journeys, equally powerful but when they meet in the middle it creates a story so romantic you can’t stop reading until the last page. Their chemistry is amazing, the spice is very hot and sexy and there is humour in the witty conversations between all characters. The author is very good and getting you immersed in the story and getting you to forget your surroundings for a while, the entire book feels healing to the soul and reading leaves you feeling hopeful and happy. I loved it and recommend it to those who want a quality dose of romance and happy endings.

Emma literally gets the axe from her Game of Thrones style acting job and then finds her boyfriend balls deep in another woman, so she heads to Rosemont for some much needed relaxation.Here she meets Lucian, ex-hockey player and grandson of Rosemont's owner. He's gorgeous and charming but also secretive and gruff.Delicious homemade treats start being delivered to Emma tempting her in more ways than one.I can not describe how ridiculously happy this book made me 😊The innuendos throughout had me giggling constantly. There is so much talk of cream 😂Its a slow burn with lots of sexual tension as they try to avoid each other but, of course, don't manage it.They have to deal with their own issues of finding themselves after losing their passions.The smut is incredible 😍Grumpy/sunshineOne bedEven some skinny-dippingPlease read this, I don't think you'll regret it!
