best battery
Been using for years. If you keep on a trickle charger, lasts a long time. Just replaced one that was still working in its 8th year!

Have purchased these batteries previously. They last and perform perfectly. I keep a charger on mine all the time and have had not issues before on my previous purchased batteries. This is why I purchased this one.

Was One of the best batteries you can buy!
For years I suffered with batteries that would barely turn over my 20031600cc Roadstar twin cylinder. I always had trickle charges for them but the CCA didn't hold up. The DEKA high CCA is a must for larger bikes, it just does the job it should. THE BAD NEWS is the second time one I purchased and installed in my 2012 Yamaha Royal Star Venture failed within 6 months and won't hold a charge.

19 Sept 2022 My critique
The Deka ETX–––whatever ETX means––battery that I bought here on Amazon is mal! It seemed okay back in April when new and I first used it in my 2011 H-D Softail. It started the bike A-OK. Circa 4 or 5 days later, I tried to start the bike's engine; the battery was nearly mort. This was not the fault of the battery; the bike has some more-than-normal drainage. Lo, the modern Harley–––and other vehicles–––with the faulty body control modules, etc!Upon finding the battery's state of charge, I put it on a trickle charger. It charged un-normaly rapid as if the battery hadn't much capacity. That was the case ultimately: low capacity. After repeated discharges and charges, in an attempt to salvage the thing, it did not completely re-vitalize. For the second and subsequent charges, I discharged the battery rapidly using a load resistance battery tester. Using this rapid, high amperage discharging method, I noticed that the positive side of the battery's case was quite warm.On the 5th and last charge, the electronic trickle charger's script stated "charging aborted, bad battery".I think that this Deka battery, which is an AGM lead-acid type, is either defective or poorly made as I've seen a pair of large AGM batteries from my IH 4200 truck (truck, not a pick-up truck) re-vitalized. The pair were mort–––completely discharged–––for circa 6 months. After recharging, they both became normally healthy! I was quite surprised. One would think that after only 5 days of discharge, this Deka battery could be made healthy again.By the way, DISCHARGE(D) DISCHARGING is correctly pronounced with the accent stress on the second syllable.
