I do a lot of gardening, and as a result, frequently have tiny bits of grit embedded in the skin of my fingertips. For me, rubbing lenses is a guaranteed way to shred them. I know that it sounds like there's no way that this thing can clean contact lenses, but it does!

I thought I'd keep one of these in my daypack with solution in it, ready to do a quick wash during the day. Nope. Thankfully I had it in a little felt bag and that absorbed the spill so it didn't get all over everything. Other than that, as long as you use it on the counter and not in your bag, it works quite well. Not as well as the ultrasonic cleaner I bought at the same time, but it works.

I have an old one like these made by a contact lens company. It's sturdier and gasketed on the lid. These work about the same but one came damaged. There is also no gasket in the cap but they don't seem to leak however I wouldn't trust them during travel if not upright.

Great product for handsfree gas permeable/hard lens cleaning. Really cleans well, is small for travel, is inexpensive, but does exactly what it says it will, and quite well. A+ rating
