Mechanical solder sucker
Very easy to setup and use melts lead free solder fairly fast and the suction if fairly good you must remember to tin the tip of the tool to extend the life of each tip but does the job very well and good value for money

Superb for retro console recapping and such! A+++
Superb. I recapped an entire Sega Mega Drive Model 1 with this and it did a terrific job. One tip though, make sure you have some silicon grease with you, as whenever you clean out the barrel(which is super easy), the rubber gromit on the sucking barrel will get a bit sticky and you NEED to have the grease to get it moving smoothly again. For a hobbyist looking to do small work, this is perfect for the money. The only things to bear in mind are the tips which will burn out after maybe an hour or so of the device being heated. So get extra tips, which are available on amazon, and get some cheap silicone grease, and you are good to go! Pic attacthed of the work i did!

Very handy for removing components - YIHUA 929D-V Electric Vacuum Desoldering Iron
I've use some professional models through work, such as Pace machines and the like, and this little gem is a very economical way to have a soldering iron and extractor all in one.It has a few different sized nozzles which are easy enough to swap out.It heats up quite quickly and is easy to use, you prime the plunger, put the tip/nozzle over the component leg, it melts the solder, you pop the plunger, it sucks up the solder. Jiggle the component leg a little to prevent it re-sticking as you remove the iron and hey presto you're removing components fairly cleanly.Very handy for replacing the joystick mechanism in console controllers when they're worn out (either not centering or getting stick drift & intermittent response for example)At nigh on £40 it's not particularly cheap I know, but compared to so many similar items it's not a bad price. Compare it to professional models and their prices are eye watering by comparison to this!Overall a very handy and very welcome to my personal tool kit, it's no doubt going to pay for itself over the years, repairing rather than replacing at great expense.

Lifesaver
Easy to use, quick to heat up. Keep copper tip cleaner handy to extend the life of the tip.Couldn’t be more straight forward to use and has made modifying, fixing and testing circuits a hundred times easier and less stressful. The hollow heated tip slips over the soldered pins, melting the solder so you can suck it all up with one button, rarely do you have to come back for a second suck, provided you eject excess solder in the shaft with the plunger (worth having a wet cloth to eject it onto). The build is a bit flimsy in its plastic so I’m trying not to be too rough with it, but it was a worthwhile investment for the hours of agony I’d spent trying to desolate with wick or a separate non heated solder sucker. Could be a bit more compact for smaller circuits and I haven’t tried it with SMD components which I can imagine with the size might be an issue. No temperature control either but it’s been plenty hot enough and fast working that I haven’t felt like it needed one. I might put a switch on it too so I don’t have to plug it in and unplug it from the outlet every time I need to use it. Comes with a little stand which is helpful.

Works like a charm
After desoldering joysticks off a playstation controller a few days earlier and using just soldering iron, desoldering braid and a seperate desoldering pump and having an absolute nightmare trying to get solder out of the through holes. I bought this for repairing the second controller. Well the second controller was repaired in an absolute flash compared to the first and all because of this tool!I wish I had bought this tool to desolder sooner. The solder came out so cleanly the old joysticks just fell out. And left no additional cleanup at all. It definitely is the right tool for the job. And id highly recommend it.

Silicone seal burns and crumbles away!
This was absolutely brilliant to begin with. Even getting components off double sided boards. It worked on any component I cared to extract - large or tiny!It was a joy to use!But after only a few uses, the 'silicone' seal where the pump joins to the heated tube has burnt and crumbled away. So now it doesn't suck at all which really sucks! So if you want a throw-away product at this price, go ahead! Ultimately it will fail.Oh and the nozzles don't last long at all. They also crumble away unevenly pretty rapidly so suction fails. I see they've now realised this and are charging £10 for a new pack, which is ridiculous bearing in mind the original product price. If you have only a few desoldering jobs and are prepared to fork out the money for this just to do those jobs, then that will probably work well for you. But any more than that and this product will fail. The 'silicone' seal is obviously very poor quality, as are the nozzles. They just can't take the heat!So overall, another product which lasts only a few uses and then becomes land-fill.You have been warned!

Halves the work of component removal from pcb/chassis.
YIHUA 929D-V De-Soldering Iron. Well made, 30W Soldering Iron with Combined Solder Vacuum Pump. Halves the work of removing components from a PCB or metal chassis (no 3-handed juggling of wick, pump, iron, pliers etc). WITHOUT TEMPERATURE CONTROL, so MUCH cheaper than professional-level rival brands. Temperatures rise from 65C after 1 min, to a max of 385-400C after 10 mins, so judgement needed not to overheat the work...can melt everything from Low Temperature Fusible Link, ALL the electrical Solder alloys, up to PEWTER work.

silicon seal crumbled
worked well for about 2 hours then the silicon seal crumbled away. OK try to buy spares. NO CHANCE. not worth having as it's now useless
