Good book
A tender story about a thirteen year old runaway, her trip to find help for her family fraught with adventure. Kept me reading.

Good authentic read
Enjoyed it and was surprised at the emotional connection I felt to Cordelia.I usually don't like series as it tends to rope you in just to purchase the next , without really delivering a better story. I am considering it though.

Good Easy Read
I really enjoyed reading this book. I liked the way the chapters were mainly dedicated to a certain character. I felt I got to know each of them.

Narrative of Cordelia journey
l liked the descriptions of all the people. The terrible living conditions they endured. Looking forward to next book, hoping life will be better for them.

Another wonderful story!
I have finished reading this book as I'm getting ready to go to sleep. I'm not so sure that's a good idea as the ending, while true to life, was a bit sad! Hazel Hart has done a great job of creating living characters in her book! I shall miss them.

Great Read
It's a story so compelling that I read later every day than I had intended. A story so well written its words just seemed to naturally fall into place. It is a story with human endeavors and success, where there seemed no success could be gained. It is a very good read that will enhance everyone's life whomever reads it.

Just ok
Good story but a little simple. Liked how min and cord had their chapters . liked basic story but again pretty light reading.

Heart-tugging and Historically Accurate!
I'm always amazed when I can read a novel of this quality for 99 cents. I'm very grateful to be able to try new authors, often who write stories that rival best sellers and even classics. Cordelia's Journey was a book that I found hard to put down, never knowing what the outcome would be. Living the life of the Pierce family was filled with difficult situations, and often heartbreaking ones. I found myself rooting for Cordelia, her mother, and her siblings every step of the way. Very realistic and well researched, I look forward to reading the sequels of this continuing saga....I actually CARE about these characters, even cruel and bitter Hiram, because his bitter heart and misguided values contain another story .

Four Stars
The book held your interest all right. Swearing was not necessary.
