2017’s Safari Ltd Coelophysis is to be lauded for not only producing an important and intensely studied member of the theropod family, but also a criminally underrepresented species in the marketplaceEasily the finest and most scientifically accurate example of Coelophysis bauri available since the Jurassic Park Kenner figures from 1993, but replete with a modern aesthetic reflecting the dinosaur/bird connectionThe sculpt represents a feathered integument, leaving the scaling details to the face, forelimbs, and feet. Minute and intricate, the face especially is beautifully detailed, each tooth individually rendered within a closed mouth which is a refreshing change of pace amongst figures of theropodsThe paint scheme is a counter shading combination of vermillion and white intersected by a black band from neck to tail with some banding at the tip. A mustard brown for the paws and scarlet red facial accents make up the remaining colours. Subtle and superb without being garish nor drabThe pose is reserved, and definitely bird like with the head and neck tilting to it’s right. The forepaws are not only held in their correct anatomical position but are accurate to the fossilized remainsThe results was most definitely worth the wait for Safari really did this underrepresented early theropod the justice it deserves and warrants a most enthusiastic endorsement from collectors and fans.

Great figure, great for collectors.It CAN survive standard play.It is a strong plastic, and not easily broken.However, if a child intentionally tries to break it, the figure could get broken.(Just don't act like a beast with it, and it'll be fine)Great paint job, exellect detail.The face is super cute for being a meat eating mini-monster.Shown next to Safari LTD triceratops for size comparison

The dinosaur arrived perfect. Has a nice clear plastic stand for mounting. Very well detailed. I am using it for educational programs not as a toy. True to size and scale as advertised.

It's the best mass produced figure of this genus, the colors are nice and it's well proportionate, it's a "tripod", it rests on the tip of it's tail, but since the tail is so long the body's position it's natural, I prefer that against oversized feeth.

I like the detail and painting scheme on this early dinosaur which is not often represented in toy figures

Was hoping it might be a bit larger as it's quite small. However, the detail is wonderful and my grandson loves it. Nice addition to his collection.
