Great switch for my Closet lighting
I purchased 3 sets of these switches as a test. They are being used to turn on lighting in closets and the pantry. I'm using box-store LED tube lights. 18" and 24" (12 watt load on the 24"). They work great and are consistent in their operation. Sort of an "Open and Shut" case. You do need a clear familiarity of home wiring accessories to negotiate the installation. Splicing, insulating, perhaps adding an plug as well, depending on existing conditions.I used Scotch double stick tape initially for the first install but have since secured the switches with small screws. There is a fair amount of mounting options and leeway for proper operation. Pretty forgiving IMO.

Great switch!
I want to start this review by saying this requires DIY ingenuity in my opinion. This little guy got bad reviews and I'm not sure why. I used it in my little greenhouse as a breakaway switch for my fan. I connected it up on the vent and as it opens it breaks away and turns on the fan venting my greenhouse. For me it was a great fit to address this need. I could see it working great for cabinets or a pantry to turn on a light as you open it.The main thing that I would encourage potential buyers to consider is that for me it required soldering and heat shrink wrapping to properly fit it into the electrical circuit. I definitely recommend this vitamin will likely be purchasing more in the future. Just know that it's not a simple plug-and-play but you will actually have to plan out the use for this.

120V micro switch!!!! Only one in existance I think!
We were looking for exactly this product, needed to turn on a light for a walk in cooler when the door opens. This is a normally open switch, so worked out perfect. Between the fact that it is a NO and 120v, made life so much easier. Otherwise you will be using a relay with transformer, etc. This has been in operation for a few months now, and no issues. Great product, good price!

Simple and effective.
Pro tip, this does not work for DC voltage only AC line voltage. Worked flawlessly in my hallway/linen closet. No more battery operated lights.

Burns after a few uses
Hi, I used this switch in a coat cabinet with a 110V, 20 W light circuit. Worked well for a few days. Within 2 weeks I had a party and the door was open/closed multiple times. The switch Burnt the plastic casing. Will not recommend this for frequent use. Works ok for once in a blue moon use.

Use small bulbs.
Okay, these have small, 18 gage wires to hook up the leads. I used crimps to install them in closets along with shrink tubing. I cut out a small piece of trim for the sensor and the magnet went on the door. I used them with small 20 watt halogen pucks. I’ll trade out the bulbs soon for LEDs to cool down the wattage. I wouldn’t use the switches for any large normal 120 volt wattage bulbs even though it says they’re rated for them. As others reported, they seem to not handle it for long. Been using them for three weeks now and they’re fine.
