well written, good picture, adequate maps. for an osprey-type book this hits the mark. covers the battle well. good precursor to further study. would buy again. as an infantry versus tank battle there could have been more details on Russian tanks and Japanese infantry support weapons and less on the development of the air forces.

Book covers this battle in great detail with lots of maps and pictures, drawing. Books explains the beginning to the end of the conflict in which the Japanese military was defeated by the Russians. Unit charts and equipment used is explained in great detail

Well researched, illustrated and written book, essential reading about this little known war. Another excellent book by this author, a well known military historian.

Good details and pictures. Recomended
