2 years of use
I purchased these in May 2023, it’s now almost April 2025. The spring finally gave out and fell apart but the clippers themselves are STILL very sharp. I’m now happily going to place another order and I’ll get two since they’re on sale. I would highly recommend these cuticle clippers.I used them about 2-3 times a month and I didn’t baby them. I seen reviews about the spring coming out easily but mine didn’t fail until after two years and I think that’s a fair amount of time for a products like this! Cuticle clippers are not supposed to last forever anyways. I was not compensated for this review.

Great toenail clipper!
I use these to cut my toenails because they are super sharp and have stayed that way for 2 years. I can get under those sharp corner edges of my toenails. I have arthritis in my hands so it’s easier to cut them from the side. Great price for exceptional clippers that work great for cuticles as well.

Best ever
I use nippers all the time, for trimming away dead skin but also for routine nail clipping. I don't like traditional nail clippers. They don't give me the control that nippers do. Over the years since I started using nippers to trim my nails, I've gone through I think 5 different pairs. Some of them were name brand, some were professional grade. Each one was made slightly differently. But none of them compare to these.Like other nippers I've used, these come with a cap that keeps the jaws closed when not in use. Always a good thing. Not only do they have just the right amount of resistance when using them (and they do), the jaws are incredibly sharp. They will cut through my nails effortlessly--and the skin? Not even a question. That said, I don't know how long they will remain this sharp. Despite that, none of the others I've used have ever been this sharp on day one.As if those were not enough, these nippers arrive in a handy plastic zip-bag, and taped to the inside of the bag is a spare spring. When you've used the nippers so long the spring looses its springiness... Just replace the spring. That was a big issue with my most recent nippers. They lost their resistance, and using them was like pulling teeth.I'll see how they hold up, but for now, I have nothing but praise for these.

sharp clippers, comfort grip, chomps through thick nails with ease
So far, so good. I took a chance on these given the mixed reviews. But I like seeing that there is a lifetime warranty and 30 day satisfaction guarantee. I haven't had any problems yet and hopeful I don't. These have been good, strong clippers so far. I have been just using them for a few months so far (since 11/2019)My need for them: I have a couple of thick nails that need the extra oomph of heavy duty toe nail clippers. I have had a couple pairs of seemingly heavy duty toe nail clippers and they would all break within a year- usually the spring gives out between handles that give it tension.I like the handle- it is easy to grip, easy to add additional strength and pressure without feeling like it will slip out from my hand, also I sense that I don't need to muscle the clippers in order to make a clip. These are easier to use due to their handle coating. The clipping part if sharp and effective. I can cut through a thick nail with ease. I would only use these on my thick nails and prefer to use the other style I mentioned for my normal nails. I never use the weak little traditional nail clippers. No matter what I get, it is always some sort of steel toe nail clipper.I'll finish this review by saying that they are sharp, they are comfortable and easy to handle, be mindful of where your nail is before you make the actual cut- I find I need to back off a bit as these actually open wide enough for me to slip my thick nails into.

Previously Disappointed in the Hype BUT NO MORE!
-UPDATE-Very long overdue and should have updated with thoughts on at least on my ending experience with Harperton’s customer service. I recall they had reached out to me after a few mos of my purchase/review and offered to send me a new one. It never came. Whatever, I moved on. A year or so later the head of Harperton reached out to me directly, apologizing for the dropped ball on that and sent me a personally chosen clipper with a gift of a small classic style clipper. Though I had forgotten and moved on, the fact that Harperton reached out to remedy the situation even after all that time was impressionable. But though this new one had a flexing lever that provided some resistance, I still found it to be too minimal for my use or liking. I chalked it up to me having a strong grip. Gave it to a male friend (even though I knew his grip was exponentially stronger than mine) and he didn’t like it either and preferred his classic style clipper. It went into my cupboard to be forgotten about...Fast forward to last week, my senior father who’s usually abroad traveling was asking me if I knew of a good clipper that was strong enough to cut a couple gnarly (kind of fungal) thick toenails ‘cause the ones he’d been trying weren’t strong enough and unable to fit around his nails. Suddenly I thought of this collecting dust at home and brought it to him. When I saw him a few days later, he thanked me saying it worked well for him! 😍 Now he really thinks I’m so good at finding quality products! 😂 I guess for him less flexing resistance was ideal! Awesome. 👍As for the small classic style nail clipper they gifted me, I never got to try it because I love the one I have so much so it went into storage somewhere; but when I finally try it out I’ll be back in a few years to review that one proper. 😬Thank you, Harperton for not ever giving up on your customer service code and being patient with my reply to your actions! 1 star to 4.-ORIGINAL-This product would have been excellent if only the handles had any sort of flex resistance. Mine has none. The little spring action part of this tool, might as well not exist. I basically have to control every action and be very careful keeping the handles open because the slightest movement of my fingers causes this to close without even trying to squeeze... If any skin were to get caught between the blades and it closed, I'd be slicing it off and bleeding a little too easily for my comfort.Material seems to be great, heavy-duty quality but this just ain't working for me as it doesn't stay open for me long enough to precision cut anything. All these stellar reviews of this product had me hopeful that these would truly be the last clippers I'd ever buy...
