This distributor (dizzy) is currently on top of my mutt of an AMC 360. I had done the Team Rush upgrade, and it was doing well enough. but I could help but think The, in my case, HEI might do better.I had HEI on my ol;d 258, but it would never run right. So, back to DS II with the Team Rush setup for the AMC 360. I finally ordered this HEI dizzy, put it in, set static timing, et voila! Then engine caught and was running in less than three revolutions!!If you're looking for a functional, reasonably reliable HEI dizzy for an AMC engine, this should fit the bill. My only complaint was how much of a PITA it is to adjust the vacuum canister. Beyond that, if you follow the directions, it should be a snap to install and get you back on the road in no time.

Look it’s made in China and it’s cheap. It is what it is. If you’re buying it for a show car or something you plan on keeping for years go for a name brand. If youre buying it for a beater or something you want to get running well and not perfect it’ll do. Bought this for a jeep that had been sitting twenty years. I got it back on the road. We’ll see how long it last before I LS swap it.

You will need a softer distributor gear. The gear that comes installed will destroy your camshaft gear.Just wanted that to be clear. The distributor works great. I recommend it.

So I got this for my 1980 Jeep Cherokee with the 360 v8. I swapped the cam gear from the old distributor onto this new one as to not risk damaging the cam gear with the harder metal distributor cam gear that comes on it. For the instal after the gear change it wasn’t too bad as it’s on the front of the motor. I used a relay set up to supply the power. Once you have a 12v source it works. So far it’s great once I set the initial timing it has cleared up rough idle when cold and seems to rev up better. I will probably come back after I put some miles on it and see how it did in the long run.
