Gootium Canvas Backpack - Vintage Military Rucksack Travel Daypack

This is not as good as the Gootium descriptions suggest.The material is brown, not grey. It is essentially 'hopsack' cotton canvas of mediocre quality. It is unlikely to offer any shower risistance. A basic sack from Mountain Warehous at £14 is far better made if slikhtly smaller and less old fashioned.The straps fasten with snap-poppers. There is really no point at all having buckles on straps if they only connect with snap-poppers . . . . absolutely bonkers.The overall quality is just about consistent with a rucksack costing well under £20, not £50.Overall quality is poor for a rucksack - maybe ok as a fashion accessory, but not really fit for hiking. It has the looks of a Swedish mil. style rucksack with all of the quality of a cheap Chinese imitation.Very very disappointing. It came out of the bag as soon as it arrived, and went back in it in less than a minute.

From my hubby:So I asked the Mrs for a rucksack for Christmas and she got me this Gootium. Well we fully tested it out this afternoon with a hike up the forest. All I can say is if your look for a sturdy light weight well made rucksack then look no further. It’s so well made and yet incredibly light. Inside it has 3 interior pockets, one of which can also be accessed by the zip on the side so it’s perfect to hold a drinks bottle/flask with easy access. My other favourite feature is the two straps on the other side panel, you can adjust the straps to carry anything so we used it to carry our picnic blanket. The shoulder straps are nice and wide and feel padded which makes it very comfy on your back. I’d definitely recommend this bag for adventures and everyday life, I absolutely love mine. Will add photos of our adventures.

For the price the this is terrible! The press studs on the front that ‘attach’ the lid are the poorest I have ever seen and are not fit for purpose, they literally fall open with no effort with bag empty let alone with stuff in. No one has quality checked this daypack prior to it being shipped - like the website says! Looks great but useless! I would of returned it but needed a bag for holiday and paid for next day delivery. When I’m home I will have to find a company that can replace press studs in order for me to be able to use it. Having already spent short of £60! Save your money.

Brass riveted, thick leather straps, draw string closure, nice fabric, soft, strong, good quality materials, you can tell it will last. Internal pockets. Handy zip. Good for lots of big books.

This is a very good quality item,the materials and manufacture are first class..it's rare that the product exceeds your expectation. I'm thrilled with it.
