Roku 3820EU Streaming Stick 4K | HD/4K/HDR Streaming Media Player, Black

Got this to replace my Apple TV....Apple TV is fantastic but my partner can't get on with the interface or remote. This is just her cup of tea. Easy to use, easy to set up, more tactile remote. Clear what you're about to click both on screen and on the remote. I set it up for her and it was really, really simple. Only thing to note is that the stick is quite long. My initial idea was to set this up on a small portable monitor then take it to the TV. The design of my Raspberry PI monitor didn't allow enough room for the stick. Probably never, ever going to be an issue on a regular TV but worth noting depending on your use case. Quality wise...I can't tell any differnece between this and my Apple TV. Works with HDR, picture is just as clear. No pixelating and sound seems just the same. One thing to mention is the start up time is longer if you power the device from a USB on the TV compared with keeping it plugged in. It's not crazy long, only a few seconds but definitely there. Power on the TV with the Roku remote, the Roku has to boot and then the remote has to pair. Less than 10s but another thing to note. Overall, if I knew then what I knew now, I'd probably have bought this over my Apple TV. All my favourite apps are there (even Apple Music) and best of all, it let me delete the BBC iPlayer app! Nice.

The device is impressively compact and easy to install, fitting discreetly behind my TV. The streaming quality is excellent, delivering vibrant 4K UHD picture with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ that really enhances the detail and color richness of movies and shows. Performance is smooth thanks to the quad-core processor, and the dual-band Wi-Fi ensures no lag or buffering, even on high-bitrate 4K streams. The included voice remote makes navigation and playback control simple, focusing on media-specific commands which work well for me. One important note about Bluetooth: while the Roku stick doesn’t support native Bluetooth audio output, you can easily connect Bluetooth headphones through the Roku mobile app using Private Listening Mode. This lets you route audio to your phone, then to your wireless headphones for convenient private listening. The app also doubles as a remote control, so you can fully control the stick from your smartphone, which is a handy feature if the physical remote is out of reach. Roku’s vast app selection and clean interface make content discovery easy, and features like Apple AirPlay integration add extra flexibility. Even after long-term use, this Streaming Stick remains reliable, quick to start, and easy to use, making it a great value that turns any TV into a smart 4K media center. So good I purchased another two.

Device works well and is easy enough to set up which is fortunate as the only instructions received are in Spanish. The plug is also not British compatible although an adapter was added.

Better than a new tv, from any brand. The total of free content available is amazing, all we may need or more. No words to describe, it excedes my expectations in all ways. I fell that I won on double, not baying a new tv and a excellent service with Roku. Fast, 4K all around if chosen.

Really impressed with the Roku 4K streaming stick, it's given an aging LG TV a new lease of life! Extremely simple to set up, basically just plug and play, absolutely no connectivity issues. Brilliant picture and sound quality and a good range of apps available. The Roku stick is so small and discreet you wouldn't even know it was there! I like the option of being able to power the stick from the TV's USB socket so no need for a separate power supply. Would I buy one of these again? Yes if I had the need for one, I think they're excellent value for money.

This has literally saved me hundreds of pounds thanks to a random ad - not sure what it said but it made me click through. I was going to replace my 2016 Panasonic tv as both its own internal apps and a 2016 Amazon fire stick were so slow, locked or crashed and needed rebooting so often I would give up in frustration. Read the reviews and thought I’d got nothing to lose by trying this Rakuten. Oh wow - £39.99 and it’s like I have a super fast tv without changing it. Very easy and fast to set up too. And refreshingly less ad driven/in your face start-up screen. The volume and tv on/off on the remote also means I don’t need to have two remotes all the time. And one interesting option is the facility to link to headphones. I’m moving to a top floor flat soon and was concerned about volume passing through the floor as I’ve had some hearing damage but this way I can keep the volume just on me, although I haven’t tested yet as I’ve not found it in the settings so will have to delve a bit deeper. So overall an extraordinarily solid product and i may sound overly enthusiastic but I want to spread the word for anyone else wanting to overcome the built in obsolescence of their current kit!

this device started randomly rebooting. We could start to watch a film and after 20 minutes it would reboot. The next time it would work for 5 minutes or 30 minutes or 50 minute. You get the picture. It didn't start doing this until after the Amazon 30 day return limit. When I tried to return it I got directed to the Roku support site. What a laugh that was. As soon as the saw the request they replied via email that they would get back to me shortly.Well after a week I still had no reply so I asked how long shortly was. 2 days later the closed the connection reporting that the problem had been resolved. Now I am stuck with useless heap of junk. Amazon should accept the return of faulty goods and refund my money. There is no option to return this item and no way to get in touch with them about it.

The software, remote and stick are excellent. the support team in US also is very helpful. but unfortunately it is not meant to be used in the region, you cannot download apps like Shahed and several features are not accessible from the region

Per my internet browsing i thought it is a best device. But it is not. It is slower. Not very good bunch of apps. Apps are not well developed. Main screen interface is not that appealing too. Sometimes freezes.
