Hardwood Piano Caster Cups, Set of 3 - Ebony

I bought these at the suggestion of my piano mover who recommended replacing my existing plastic casters with felt-bottomed casters. At first I hesitated, I mean my plastic casters have worked fine for the better part of 10 years so why bother replacing them? But these looked nice and the wood finished matched that of my piano, so I bought a set.The first thing I noticed is that they are substantially smaller than my old plastic casters. Compared to the wheels of the piano they are about twice the length of my wheels in diameter. So they appear like a little dot underneath the piano legs.The second and most dramatic thing I noticed was the sound improvement. It was instantly noticeable and a huge difference! My house has hardwood floors throughout and the casters made the piano so much more reverberant. The house became part of the instrument, noticeably the clarity in the bass register of the piano was much improved. I believe the wooden casters conduct sound waves much more efficiently than their plastic counterparts so the sound passes through to the floor now. This may not be desirable if you live in a top floor condo but in my case it was just what I needed.Im super happy with these casters and would recommend them to all my pianist friends!

These are a fabulous match for my recently refurbished satin ebony Steinway L. They are smaller than the plastic ones I had years ago, and I questioned whether their smaller size would work as well. In fact, they are much more elegant—they practically disappear—and the wood is sturdy. Very happy with this purchase (AND my “new” Steinway!)

Too small for the casters on my baby grand. Movers tried to place the casters on the cups and scratched them up. Can't return them now that they are damaged.

Fits grand piano perfectly

These are well made and fit my 5'10" grand piano casters perfectly. I wouldn't call them deluxe looking but they are solid wood with a decent finish, and the quality of the felt on the back seems just fine.

Exactly what I was looking for. My old plastic casters weren't holding up well. These have a nice small footprint, but still fit the wheels for my 7' grand. There is felt on the bottom, but I added Waxman 3 1/2" Super Slider to the bottom to be extra sure I don't scratch my hardwood floor when moving the piano. If you don't foresee moving your, the felt that comes on the bottom is sufficient.

Smaller than I anticipated. They look small under my grand. I think for the $ I expected more. The center for the piano caster is barely big enough, sloped, and the piano jiggles where it was solid in the plastic ones I hard before.They are nice looking, just small looking.
