This is a nice sized , good quality compost bucket with a filters in the lid to keep smells away as you fill with kitchen scraps . Doesn’t take up much room when stored under sink . It is finished nicely and does not look too out of place when left on the counter. The sturdy handle makes it easy to transport to the compost outside . I have not seen any evidence of fruit flies so far.

A little pricy, but I"m very happy with the purchase. I finally have curbside recycling, and need something in the kitchen to hold scraps before transferring to the big bin. I wanted something not too big, not too expensive, and it didn't need to be fancy. This model fit my needs perfectly. It sits on a side table without overtaking it. The handle is firmly attached if you need to carry it. The color fits in well - doesn't stand out too much, and the reeded sides add just a touch of interest. I've chosen to line the container (photos) with compostable bags. This container easily fits a 1-gallon or 3-gallon recycling bag very nicely. The size is good for my needs - there are larger containers out there, but it doesn't take long for compostable items to smell, so I find myself tying off and replacing the bag long before the container gets full, so I'm happy I didn't get a bigger container (and I have a small household). No comment on the 'filter'. The lid alone kept smells contained, so no idea if the filter does much. Solid build, fits my needs, and looks nice. I highly recommend this counter compost container.

Love this compost bin. It is stylish enough to leave on the countertop but sized to also fit well in a cabinet under the kitchen sink. So easy to clean and the filter means no smell. Holds a significant amount of food waste and the flexible handle makes it easy to empty into your garden compost pile or a larger compost container around your home with no mess. I bought the gray color and it is beautiful.

I love this compost bin. It’s the perfect size; I love the color, and it looks nice in the kitchen even though it’s a compost bin. I put food scraps in it and left it out on the countertop for probably 3+ weeks before it was full and never once smelled anything or saw a fruit fly. The ventilation and charcoal filters work really well. It seems like a high quality product. The only thing I can complain about is that the metal screws are not stainless stell, so after the first emptying I noticed the screws were rusty. It was easy to clean (I washed it with dawn and just took out the filters to wash it.), but the screws are still rusted.

Perfect size compost bin! Sits on the counter all week with no smell, holds everything, cleans easily, and even fits nicely in the sink when I need to hide it.

I've been encouraging my family to compost for years. My mom was not keen on keeping her compost in the freezer like I do, so I got her a 5 gal bucket for her garage and she picked out this countertop collector for her kitchen. She really likes how it looks. Compost is not aesthetically pleasing so I think pairing it with a cute container makes it more enjoyable. She lines the container with a compostable bag, and once the bag is full she takes it out to the garage bucket. It's no different than putting trash in the trash bin, the bucket works well at locking odors and is easy to transport to the local compost bin. Now that her food waste is being composted, the amount of trash has been cut in half (and her trash doesn't smell anymore!). She is not having to take out the trash as much, so composting is not adding much more time to her chores. She has not complained about the smell so I think the charcoal filter works well. So glad we found a system that works for her! She now loves the idea of composting.

The bin itself is nice. I like the warmth the wood knob adds and it looks like good, solid construction. Now, the handle is cheap as it can get. I had to replace it with my old one because it wouldnt last two trips to my back yard. Also, the screws that it comes with are so big and bad quality that makes the whole thing look cheap. Such and afterthought (see picture)

i like the way it looks BUT the filter in eth lid has huge gaps in it so its always full of flies. Big design error
