I was sent the wrong one but… it’s okay!
Sooo… I attempted to give myself highlights with a bleach kit called Splat after previously bleaching my own hair (I am naturally a dark blonde already though) and it worked out fine, but took two sessions. The highlights were a horrible fail and bled, giving me spots and an orange band because I hadn’t done my hair since end of Oct. I ordered the smoky pearl toner after I made a clarifying shampoo (20v developer and dawn dish soap) that I let sit for ten+ minutes in my hair, washed and conditioned it out and towel dried. Then I proceeded with the beige toner I was sent. They sent the wrong order completely but I was so frustrated with my hair, I just had to do something-and returning the order and getting new would have taken FOREVER. So thanks Amazon, your service is a little off but I ended up LOVING the end result. This beige is so beautiful and blended my orange spots together pretty good. When my roots on top start to come in I’m doing a dark blonde bayalage through out my hair to let it grow back in natural. That was the plan. But the highlights fail was horrible so never again. Just be sure if you use this, your hair is a pale yellow mostly. I had some horrendous orangey spots because my underneath is dark blonde and the splat bleach (which I don’t recommend ever ) did not lift right at all. This smoothed things out. But like I said I’m doing a nice bayalage to my roots here soon and I’m done with bleach. So back to the story…I sectioned my hair and saturated it really well. Took two boxes of the beige toner and two bottles of 10v developer. I followed the directions with no heat but I left it on over an hour since I didn’t know if it would work well. It works and I just hope it’s really permanent like they say it is! Beautiful color. Just gorgeous! Thanks for sending the wrong one Amazon! This is better than smoky Pearl.

Better results than expected
I've been doing my hair at home for years now and typically Wella toners are my go to for affordable and fast results. I stumbled on these and thought I'd give them a try as shimmer lights is the OG of purple shampoos. First, I want to make it known that I intentionally used a 20 v developer instead of the recommended 10 because I wanted some of the gold to lift. This isn't always necessary and if you're new to doing your own hair I would highly recommend you stick to using 10 v per the instructions. I mixed the colors Platinum Ice and Smokey Pearl equally with two parts developer as directed, left in towel dried hair for 25 minutes and I'm impressed with the results! I love that these toners are a cream for easy application and reuse. My hair was a little dryer afterwards than it typically is when I use Wella but the damage was mininal and the results were worth it. I did a quick hair mask (which I always recommend) after toning and the dryness was gone. Keep in mind that these two colors are meant for level 10 hair (the color of the inside of a banana), and not dark yellow or orange hair. I would recommend the Beige for anyone that's not quite at a level 10 yet.... I will be purchasing again!

All time favorite product. Easy to do with quick outcome.
All time favorite product. As a school teacher and mom, I can lighten my hair at home. I love the price, convenience and the quality of the product. I use it multiple times a year and it leaves my hair feeling smooth and strong. The company video guide on how to properly apply the product is very informative.

Brassy tones
A grey addition after blond hair treatments, but doesn’t get rid of brass! Just makes it more difficult to tone for the professional!

Better than Wella toner!
I used to use clairol creme toner 311 in tow head which is no longer available. This was recommended and I'm so happy I tried it! I'm a natural blonde but it's gotten darker with age and I also have white hairs now. I used the platinum toner with a 20 vol because my roots had turned banana peel yellow when I tried a new box color. I like a more natural look and this platinum toner gave me just what I wanted. I left it on for 30 min and it did turn the white hair around my face a little grayish but it's nothing that doesn't blend in like with the wella toners that made them look unnaturally purple or blue. I'm going to try the clairol beige blonde next time. This toner does not turn blue or purple while it's developing but it wirks like magic! It just turns a nice natural tone. I'm sharing 2 photos in different light. If you have blonde or medium to light brown hair that you bleach give this a try. Not sure it would work to cancel orange that you get when you have dark brown or black hair.
