Good value for pump. Max temp limit is 95 deg F though...
I bought this pump to do a vinegar flush of my hot water heating coil and for use in draining a hot tub. The coil flush came first. Paid attention to weak threads and needing to tip unit to prime it. Pump worked well for purpose, but noticed bypass flow coming out between bottom head and main body... Upon further inspection, the bottom inlet screen/head had warped (1/8" out of flatness). O-ring was no longer sealing it to body. I know the fluid had heated to 130+ degrees as it was too hot to comfortably keep hand in. Just be aware that the 95F temperature limit may be pretty accurate although not clearly stated in description. Draining a heated hot tub is probably fine, but not much more. Still a good pump for the money though!

Difficult to use
does not work well when water is only a couple of inches deep.

Worked well for cleaning tankless water heater
The media could not be loaded. This pump worked well to clean my tankless water heater. This would do a good job recirculating clean water or pumping out clean water. As the box states this is for clean water only. If you tried to use it in muddy water it would jam or burn out the motor. I let this run in the bucket of 4.25 gallons of white vinegar for about an hour. I did notice the pump was starting to run a bit hot. Running longer than 1 1/2 hour be sure to see how hot it is getting. This was a perfect pump for the job I had for it. I bought it just for this and will use it once a year. If you do so, male sure you run clear water through it to get out all of the vinegar and let it dry out thoughly before storing.

Do yourself a favor and hard pass on this pump!
As sump pumps for infrequent use goes, this is possibly the worst choice you can make in my opinion. I've used it twice, both times, it takes close to forever to begin pumping. If you loose suction for any reason, IE; relocating the pump, you have to start over. Granted, I've used it not as I intended, but well within normal expectations of a sump pump. My previous no name pump was 20+ years old and used almost weekly for pond water changes. Parts on it finally rusted to the point of breaking, hence this purchase. Now wishing I'd bought from a big box rather than amazon. Then I possibly would have had recourse. Unfortunately, we as a nation wanted cheaper, so now we don't make anything and have become a dumping ground for china. It got 5 stars for easy of use simply because even a cave man could do it! Put it in the water, plug it in.
