GORGEOUS + PERFECT SIZE!
Okay, so I haven’t actually used this mortar and pestle yet, but I’m already obsessed with it. It’s just so pretty! The design is gorgeous, and it’s the perfect size for what I need. It feels solid, and I can tell it’s good quality. I can’t wait to finally put it to use, but even just having it on my counter makes me happy. Definitely recommend if you want something functional and good-looking!

Perfect!
I don't know how I lived so long without this! I have to crush pills to liquify for my pups who won't take pills/capsules and this has made my life so much easier. I used to crush them with a spoon but it was messy and inefficient. It's also easy to clean. Love it!

Does the job, but very small and absorbs flavors
Overall, I am happy with this little mortar and pestle. As I've become a better cook, I've learned to get whole spices whenever possible and to avoid the pre-ground versions which lose their potency much sooner. I like this little guy. It's sturdy and I could probably throw it across the room without it breaking. My only issues with it are its small size and it is hard to clean. I can only crush a small amount of seeds at a time (like less than a teaspoon), or else the muddling action will push some over the side. The inside of the bowl is textured most likely to allow for more effective crushing. That way you actually get the seeds instead of just sliding them around. The problem is the oils from the spices get stuck in the material and is nearly impossible to get out. Washing with a strong detergent doesn't do the trick. So I've tried vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda and a combination of all the above with only marginally better results. So now my mortar smells permanently of cumin. When I pulverize celery or mustard seeds in it, they all come out smelling pretty similar :-(Still, it was a good purchase that I don't regret. Perhaps next time I'll spend more on a larger set now that I know I like and use this one.

Just what I needed
Great product. Great price. Exactly the size I was looking for. Packaged to withstand my delivery driver throwing it from 10 feet away onto my porch.
