This is great for my 3 year old!!
My son has the dry erase board that you can put papers inside and copy, then erase. This has been great for him! I make copies of each page and stick it between the dry erase board and my 3 year old writes out the letters and can erase them and do it again. He can write and spell his own name "NOAH". He is such a smart boy, very patient and determined. I liked this idea so much I bought this book and the same dry erase for my 4 year old nephew, but he can only sit for so long before he gets bored and on to something else. I highly recommend this for toddlers to prepare them for preschool/kindergarden. I like when we are watching a movie and my son will grab his dry erase board and start copying letters. It makes me happy! He can pick up a pen and paper and write Noah. One day he was playing outside and he said mommmy look, I wrote my name...and he wrote his name in the dirt! It was precious! =) Thanks to this alphabet book, he can write pretty good!

Kindergarten Age HOMESCHOOL GOLD!
This is a fantastic resource for homeschooling parents/ grandparents! I enjoy the paper orientation, the monochrome images, simple storylines and the amount of space allotted to work in. The ‘draw your own’ box is a fun game to play at the end of the assignment. I cannot recommend this highly enough! My child is five years old and this was perfect for his level. Not too difficult, not without a challenge!

Great for handwriting practice and phonemic awareness.
Two pages per letter and not boring for the kids. I can print it double sided to save on paper and it's monochrome so it's perfect to do a little coloring. Just the right amount of tracing and free writing. Really nice to have it recognizable to the kids with the Alpha Tales friends. The reason I could not give it 5 stars is because it is suppose to be reproducible pages, but it's not easy to remove the pages for copying. Does not have perforation as I would have expected. I had to remove the binding, which is not a problem for me because I do it regularly with our homeschooling workbooks, but it is a pain.

AlphaTales Practice Pages
I love this book! It does a fantastic job of guiding students to form the alphabet letters correctly. It also keeps students engaged by requiring them to pick out the target letter among other letters that look similar, and students also have to fill-in-the-blanks and draw a picture of something that begins with the target letter. Each letter practice page refers to the featured animal in the AlphaTales story. I have found so much success in using this book that I have stopped using the practice pages that came with our reading series. My students are more engaged, and their performance has improved. I would definitely recommend this book to all kindergarten teachers, even if you don't own any of the AlphaTales books.

Favorite for teaching letters!
Perfect for my preschooler! We homeschool and he looks forward to this everyday while my older child does her independent work. The pages are easy to reproduce for extra practice and the books that go along with it (highly recommend those as well!) have very fun and engaging stories. It's so easy to add extra learning opportunities with these as well. I've used many different letter formation practice workbooks and this one is by far my favorite!

practice makes perfect...er..kind of...
I bought this to start getting my 4 year old son ready for kindergarten because the teachers told me he should be able to recognize lowercase letters. He is still working on his fine motor skills and has difficulty writing the letters independently though he can trace them somewhat okay. Is it me or are all 4 year olds supposed to be able to know the entire alphabet in lowercase and uppercase.

Alphatales
This workbook is ideal for teaching the alphabet because it not only allows space for students to practice writing the letters themselves, but also teaches them how to use them in context of words and sentences. Each section has a fun sentence which uses the featured letter and is supported by a small illustration to explain its meaning. These sentences can be read in class to help with pronunciation and reading comprehension. I often try to make it into a kind of tongue twister game where students have to read the sentences five times fast. This way, reading is introduced to them as a fun activity. At the bottom of each section, three pictures and words are given starting with the featured letter. Cleverly, a fourth space is left blank for students to write their own picture and word beginning with the featured letter.I like this workbook because it provides practice space for writing the letters, helps students to understand the function of capital and lower case letters, and shows them how to apply the letters in real sentences and words. It's a very well-rounded, entertaining introduction to the English alphabet.

Does not support precursive letter formation
This book is tailored to the American school system as it mentions 'Grades Pre-K-1' We are no longer teaching letter formation like this in Keystage 1 in English schools. We now teach precursive letter formation which this book does not support.
