beefy 8's
these are some beefy little 8's...the magnet is damn near as big around as the business end...got them wired to 4ohms each, slapped into boxes around .75 cubic feet of volume plus or minus...and hooked them up to a rockville RPA16...should give each speaker about 1500 watts rms to play with...yes, they make some good noises...they are 8's, but nobody told them that...my boxes are sealed boxes so i get a little extra punch out of them in the kick drum region...they hold their own sitting next to the skar evl 15's...haven't had to put more than half the amp's juice into them to achieve noises such that I couldn't blame the neighbors for calling the authorities...the drum and bass techno music i subject the speakers to comes out of these 8's loudly and crisply...i am inclined to recommend these to anyone looking for a sub that won't take up tons of space but still satisfies the bass lover in you...they're probably a little less tamed than mine in a ported box but they still get down in a sealed box for sure....you just need to make sure you got the juice these little monsters need to run right...it all makes sense when you see the magnet end...my review will be updated should there be any changes, but don't hold your breath...these things rock

THE LITTLE 8" SUB THAT COULD!!
I have one of these in a single 8" sub box and have 1000 watt JL amp running this and it SLAMS! It flexes my doors and windows. Can handle a lot power and sounds great. Box is tuned at 44hz. single 8" set up is the way to go.

Great woofer but power hungry
This is a great woofer that takes a beating, plays low and can take a beating. I have 600 RMS going to each one and they handle it no problem. Great woofer for the money just make sure you have the power for them.

Outstanding subwoofer, very stout so be careful of your speaker wires!!
I bought 2 of the 8" D4's with the manufacturer recommendation that these subs will perform well in an enclosure of .3 cubic feet per sub. Well, after the subs arrived, I built a box with that recommendation in mind, and my door speakers are louder. I'm powering these subs with a hifonics colossus amplifier, 2200 watts. I've built many boxes, and even have done some competitions (since the late 90's), so I have some experience building boxes. Once again, my door speakers are louder. So right now, I'm quite unhappy. I will update this review once I build a ported box this up coming weekend. As of right now though, as I've stated before, I'm quite unhappy.Update: So after got home for work, I decided to give the sub woofers one last look before building a whole new box. What I had discovered upon pulling the subs out, is that one of the speaker wires got pinched off due to so little clearance. If you notice from my pictures, I doubled the baffle, and I believe the speaker wires hit that since the sub is so stout! What I had to do when putting the subs back into the enclosure this time is get the wires as flat as possible against the subwoofer so they wouldn't get pinched off.I'm happy to say that this set up is amazing, and works great!! I'm definitely happy with these subs and how well they perform in such a small enclosure.

Deep Bass
I am a novice when it comes to car audio but definitely consider myself a “bass head”. I decided to purchase 2 meso 8” subs and I am not disappointed!I can’t believe how punchy these subs are. It’s like someone is hitting my car with a sledgehammer. I typically just throw a budget system in my cars but decided to step up just a bit from the $75 woofer. I include this because someone with more experience may not agree with me.I was looking at the sundown 8” x series but decided to save a few hundred plus I had already purchased the CT sounds dual 8” box and the 1500 CT Amp. Both the box and the amp would have not paired well with sundown so I backed out of that purchase. Regardless if sundown subs had more power I do not believe I can handle more than the meso 8” on a dailyDo not hesitate on these! I am amazed at the power and can feel every note.

Extremely high quality woofer with some heavy caveats
The woofer itself I give a solid 5-star rating! I highly recommend a ported box with lower tuning to get the best out of this woofer. I have mine in a 1.0 cu ft box tuned at 32hz mated to a Rockford Fosgate Punch P500X1BD and it performs very nicely! Very impressive lows and I'm sure it could take quite a bit more than rated.**********************************************************************************************************************************What are the caveats?I would HIGHLY recommend getting the optional Asurion Electronics Protection Plan for this woofer as I had an issue with shorted leads to the voice coil on one of my units to the point where it would only play intermittently and noticed I would get some output when I pushed on woofer. It also doesn't appear that CT Sounds is providing more than a return policy for a warranty. Only 30-days based on the official website unless that's a serious error that they're just not correcting. If that's a problem for you, which I can totally understand; I'd recommend going for a Sundown SA-8 or a X8. Just my two cents.**********************************************************************************************************************************
