Perfect for adjustable laser focus for my CO2 laser cutter
This thing is perfect for my use case Steps per mm at full steps is 40 Set speed via m203 to between 1 and 5, slower speed more strength. Also have motor turn off fast after not in use via m18 s1 x1 Or via firmware I am running it at about 800ma at 12v it gets hot if used for more than 10 seconds. This is fine as the laser cutter only adjusts the focus once then sits idle for the rest of the job. I would not use this with this much power for something needing constant adjustment. But due to the weight of my setup about 70grams I need the power. I may be a good idea to add a counter weight system to lighten to load using lead fishing weights.

Works with Arduino UNO and AG motor control shield
Two caviats: Although the specs say 5 to 12 volts, it seems to run happiest at 5 vdc. At 12 vdc, the motor gets scary hot. Motor max rpm is not specified, but I found running it over 1500 rpm it tends to lose pulse counts and "drift" one direction or the other. Still, at 1000 rpm it should be plenty fast accurate enough for most projects, and I think it will do just fine for mine.
