What weight is this yarn?

It says it is a 4 (medium) , but I would consider it more like a sport weight. It is fantastic to crochet with!

Approximately How many skeins to make an Afghan?

A lot. This is really good yarn but it isn’t meant for making Afghans. It is very thin. I just used three skins to make a purse. So I guess you need at least 20 to make an Afghan. Hope this helps.
