Excellent quality and very effective!
This hat brush exceeded my expectations. It’s very well made, with sturdy bristles that clean felt and wool hats without damaging the material. It removes dust and lint easily and keeps my hats looking sharp. You can really feel the quality, and it’s clear this brush was made to last. A must-have for anyone serious about hat care!

Excellent brush and a must-have for the owner of any fur-felt hat!
As an owner of several higher end fur-felt hats, I've been looking for a good brush that can clean and restore the look of my hats! I'm glad I purchased this brush because it really gets the job done! Its ergonomically curved design is such that it facilitates easy brushing along the inner edge of the brim as well as along crown, creases, and under side of the brim. As suggested in the instructions, go in a counter-clockwise motion on the topside of the hat, and clock-wise for under the brim. Hats are 'finished' in a way (usually with a sanding device) that often puts a certain grain to the nap. That's why you want to brush counter-clockwise. You'll be surprised how vibrant the fur-felt will look after a good, proper brushing! If you're like me, your hat didn't look THAT good when you bought it! Brushing brings the life out of it.I'd like to address the issue of hairs falling out of the brush. First, let me preface by saying that the very nature of a natural fiber brush, in this case, one made with horse hair, will occasionally shed a hair or two, particularly when it's brand new. In my case, I found nothing at all objectionable with hairs falling out of the brush. For my initial use, I cleaned and brushed five hats: two Stetsons, a Dobbs, a Christy and an Akubra. Here is what I observed regarding hairs falling out:Initially, yes, a hair or two came out of the brush. I think this is to be expected, and all I had to do was simply blow them off the first hat I brushed, but it wasn't anything like some of the comments I've read here, which has led me to believe that what a lot people are seeing is probably the actual fur-felt fiber of their hats. In other words, they're seeing the rabbit fur hair fibers that make up the felt of their hats. Brushing your hat will bring some of these individual hairs to the top. Also, as you brush a hat you'll loosen up fibers like an occasional nylon thread strand that is used to sew that band to the crown. I actually found two of these individual 'hairs' but again, they weren't horse hair, they were nylon strands, and they didn't come from the brush.I noticed on a softer felt, like my Christy CH35 fedora, you can actually see individual hairs from the felt itself. This is rabbit fur and not horse hair! There is a difference! Horse hair is coarse and thicker. And of course, if you really pay attention, the hair fibers in your hat are much shorter than the strands of horse hair that are used in the hat brush. In a beaver fur-felt, like my Stetson Pinnacle, you see really no individual hair strands at all. With an Akubra Boss, there are small individual hairs that can be seen, and even on a black hat, they appear lighter in color. Again, these are rabbit fur hairs, not horse hair from the brush. My Dobbs and older Stetson Royal have a tighter felt, and thus, no hairs were observed there. So in summary, I wouldn't hesitate recommending this brush and I'm sure as I get lighter color hats (all of mine are black), I'll be buying another Superio hat brush, as it's best to have one for dark hats and another for lighter color hats.

Works better than expected
I just picked up 2 new hats, including a nice black wool fedora that needed a good brushing. This brush looked like it would work well and was a reasonable price. When it arrived I couldn’t wait to test it, so I went at the wool fedora. Wow, it took all the fuzz and junk off in just a few swipes! It worked way quicker and with less work/pressure than I expected. Bristles are firm yet soft and pick up all the stuff that has accumulated. Once I got it clean I put my hat in a hat box, but I know when it gets a bit dirty again, this brush will quickly clean it up. I give the brush and seller 5 stars across the board, Im very happy with this brush!

A bit rough around the edges
For 10 bucks I don’t know what I was expecting. The bristles are OK but are cut unevenly. I got a splinter when I removed it from the package. The wood handle is pretty rough and unfinished. I took some sandpaper to it to knock down the rough edges and scaling. And a pair of shears took care of the bristles. If 15 minutes more was spent on the finish, it would be perfect right out of the box.

A must have for the serious hat collector
After reading all the reviews, I came across one review from someone who has the same understanding of hat care as I do and actually owns some of the same hats that I do especially the Akubra. First, a lot of the people low rated the product because of shipping issues which is not related to the product and have a lack of knowledge about hat care products. When I first opened the package and held the brush in my hand it felt solid and was agronomically proper for use on all my fedoras. I tried it on my black center creased wool fedora. Yes one or two horse hair bristles came off but that was it. No big deal. Then I used it on my brown tear drop wool felt outback and the results were excellent. Finally on my Akubra rabbit felt Stylemaster and it looked brand new when finished. I definitely recommend this brush for any serious hat affectionato . Now for Amazon shipping, they delivered it to the wrong address. The picture of the package on the front steps was the front of a neighbors house. My house number is large enough for Mr. Magoo to read.
