Last time I went through TSA with a TSA approved small clear cosmetic bag with my official 3 oz or less toiletries, the TSA agent yelled at me to dump them out, and handed me a 1-Quart size zip-lock (food-type) plastic bag and said "You need to put those in THIS. This is all we take." They were dumping EVERYONE's everything out of whatever it was in and making everyone re-pack into disposable 1-quart ziplock bags. Was the TSA agent right? Wrong? Overly-cautious? (You'd think it has to be in any tSA approved transparent bag of that size or approved for that purpose- but NO, they were mandating ONLY ACTUAL ziplock 1-qt bags at JFK that day.) After that pointless, time consuming and humiliating enterprise, I ONLY carry my 'carry-on' toiletries in a an ACTUAL 1-quart zip-lock bag. Which I put in these clear bags. That way if I have to 'put them just in the ziplock back'- I just take the packed ziplock bag OUT of the tsa-regulation clear bag they might balk at.

No you can’t. The zipper tabs are solid types.

yes, the lid opens all the way back when fully unzipped. I love mine and bought more.
